"Our kids (now college-age) remarked over and over again that this was the best place we have yet stayed in for a ski vacation in the Rockies (we've vacationed in five locations so far, I believe). What made Lauraway the best of them all were: the spacious accommodations--there was a bed for everyone (nine people), the middle level with no bedrooms (to help keep things quieter when some want to stay up later playing games, etc), the large dining table that seated everyone in our party, the living room big enough for everyone to crash in at the same time, adequate hot water, a large and well-equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, toilet paper, etc, large (working) hot tub and sauna, and more. In short, it was the closest (to the ski slopes), most spacious, most complete of accommodations we stayed in so far! And it's very reasonably priced (with very nice and "reachable" owners) at that! Would definitely stay in again."Guest: John M. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 18, 2014View listing
"We took a spring break trip to the rocky Mountains, and wow what a great place to call home for a week! Settled in a fairly secluded spot with a gorgeous backyard and tree line made the hottub on the rear patio even more enjoyable after a long day on the slopes. We were also able to make use of the included snowshoes and sleds in the garage and ventured out in the back of the house to see some beautiful scenery right next to the property. The house was top notch! Clean, very comfortably furnished with plenty of decorations to give it that homey feel, with plenty of towels, bedding and a full kitchen with everything you need to feed a hungry group. The huge heated garage was also a lifesaver with keeping all of our gear and vehicle snow and ice free. The cabin slept 5 guys comfortably with room to spare, perfect for all ages. The owners were unbelievably great hosts as well! They provided very detailed instructions before arrival and even some tips on where/what to see in the area. After our trip was over, the owners even went above and beyond by locating and mailing some forgotten belongings we had left after our trip was over! Couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience or host! Thanks again for such a great time and we hope to stay again if we can make it out in spring of 2015!"Guest: Jerame C Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: August 8, 2014View listing
"My husband and I stayed here with my 2 teenage sons and their 2 friends and they loved it! Plenty of room and extra beds. Beautiful, quiet spot, very relaxing with a great hot tub. All the up grades were tastefully done. All in all a very good value. We ate at Taddeo's Italian Restaurant and it was a very good, reasonably priced place. Would stay here again, Kids didn't want to leave!"Guest: Magoo Date of Stay: December 2012 Review Submitted: February 5, 2013View listing
"This was just what we were looking for. Very close to town, very close to hiking, ride (road bikes) right out the door (a little non-pave to get to the road), trails to hike and walk the dogs without having to drive. The yard is "fenced-in" if you have good dogs. Its a wire fence and our dogs respected the boundary but the puppy needed a training opportunity to learn to honor the fence then respected it through the week. The burrowing ground squirrels kept their noses busy each morning. HIGHLIGHTS: Moose tracks in the creek 6 feet from the patio. A lake trail to hike for short jaunts and a higher mountain trail a little higher. Quandry Peak trailhead is 3 miles South to bag a 14er (although not the prettiest 14er). Don't miss the Spruce Creek trailhead for awesome waterfalls (go W. on CO-800 from Goose Pasture Tarn)."Guest: Ed Date of Stay: July 2013 Review Submitted: August 5, 2013View listing
