"Our family stayed here and at the guest house for 5 days. There were 9 adults and 6 children ages 2,4,4,5,6,8. We had a great time and enjoyed the house. Each adult family had their own bedroom. The property was clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful and prompt in answering our many questions. The house is about 10 minutes from Carbondale, where we enjoyed the 4th of July parade. The Maroon Bells near Aspen were great fun and we saw the now famous Bull Moose (2 of them) near the falls just up from Maroon Lake. Of course, the pool at Glenwood Springs was a great hit for the whole family. We also did a jeep trip from Marble to Crystal and the Mill on the Crystal River was really fun to visit. We enjoyed the kitchen at the house and ate all of our meals there. The pictures are accurate, although they do not do justice to the incredible view of Mt. Sopris. Thanks for a great vacation! PS- We rode the Amtrack train up to Glenwood from Denver. It was TERRIBLE! It took 10 hours to get from Denver to Glenwood. Don't do the train!!!!"Guest: Phyman Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 12, 2014View listing
"Aspen on the River was the perfect place to get away from our normally hectic lives, from passing the day away reading or napping in the hammock while listening to the crashing sounds of the Crystal River, to building a wonderful fire during the cool evenings. Truly the perfect summer getaway. Our host Charity was most gracious and made us feel so very welcome in her home. She ensures your every need is met – flashlights, fishing gear, even a warmer jacket on a chilly evening. Everything was there and available. The kitchen is stocked like no other place you will stay. She also knows the area like the back of her hand – waterfalls, hot springs, local eateries, you name it! Thanks again Charity!"Guest: Brenda B. "My family has had the privilege of staying at this beautiful home during Labor Day weekend for the past 5 years. My husband and I host our children and grandchildren and we range in age from 5yrs to 66 yrs. There is something for everyone at this location, the kids play in the spacious yard, watch movies in the home theater room; the 'older folks' gather around the dining table to play cards or games...or a rousing game of pool downstairs. We have filled many albums with pictures of our great times at this lovely home. The location is perfect to move easily and quickly between Aspen and/or Glenwood Springs. There is a wide range of hiking / biking trails suitable for a variety of skill levels. Although the home has great proximity to shopping and restaurants in El Jebel and Carbondale...it feels like it is secluded and 'away from it all'. We treasure our time and the many memories we have made at this home. Working with Peter and Heather has been a dream. The home is even lovelier than the listing photos now that the landscaping is maturing. We enjoy the Colorado mountains most in summer and fall...and this scenic location offers amazing views and vistas from every angle. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family...as long as they don't want to come over Labor Day weekend !!!"Guest: K.R. "We three (husband, wife, dog) thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Hostess-With-the-Mostest Chris. The space is perfectly appointed with comfortable furniture, every gadget one could ever need and great beds. Luxurious linens were wonderful! Also, she's made sure there is plenty of room for the visitors' stuff (not always the case). View from the patio is the BEST! We spent many hours there enjoying our spectacular view of Mt Sopris and the beautiful garden. Heartily recommend this lovely place and its location!"Guest: Judy A.
