  • A great house for people to spread out

"We celebrated my in-laws' 75th birthdays here. There were between 10 and 12 people, depending on the night. This house is large and has a floorplan that provides lots of space to spread out. The little kids watched TV in the basement or jumped rope on the deck. The grownups gathered around the dinner table or out on the deck. The home is not overloaded with provisions or basic cooking supplies but we had all we needed. We loved the extra large granite countertop with bar chairs where we could cook, talk, and lay out snacks to eat. The TV was easy to operate and the internet was great, even with all of us using the Wi-Fi on our iPads and smart phones. The house provided easy access to the boat ramp just down the road at Shadow Mtn. Lake. There was enough room to park 4 cars. It's a 5 - 10 minute drive to the town of GL. Neighbors are nearby but the houses are set apart so you don't feel like you're in a neighborhood. The views are spectacular. You can see the lake from the front of the house and the mountains and sky from the back deck. We hope to rent this home again. I would have given it an excellent rating except for a few small issues that could be easily fixed: *The pillows were so flat and uncomfortable. The padding was non-existent. If we stayed here again we would all bring our own pillows. My father-in-law said the shower heads in the master bath had mineral buildup that caused some of the holes to be blocked. He said he danced around trying to get all wet :-) The pullout bed on one of the couches was in disrepair so we put the kids on mattresses on the floor. The trundle bed in the basement bedroom was comfortable but very squeaky. All things considered this is a great place for a big group."

  • Wonderful time in wonderful home

"This was the perfect place for a long weekend getaway for our family. Tex was very easy to communicate with, and the property is lovely. Beautiful spacious kitchen with a great barbq on the spacious deck. Plenty of sleeping space and privacy for everyone. Great location as only a mile outside of town. Moose and deer aplenty were seen. We took long walks in the neighborhood and met several friendly residents. I truly can't think of one bad thing about our stay and I would love to stay again! PS My son and hubby loved the video games in the basement!"

  • Incredible!!!

"What an amazing place this is!!! It has absolutely everything...we found there to be such thoughtful attention to detail in every way. The setting of the property is gorgeous as it sits up on the hill overlooking the most fantastic views of the lake. We must have timed it right because the hillside was in full bloom with stunning purple and yellow flowers and the water level was great which allowed us easy access to and from the boat. The deck overlooking the lake has plenty of seating which we enjoyed from sun up to sun down and the fire pit was such a lovely way to end each evening. The owners have a canoe available for guest use which was an unexpected highlight for every member of our family. The main cabin is as cozy as can be and well equipped...truly home away from home. (Fresh water in the refrigerator, cozy blankets, clean sheets/towels, WiFi, large family dining table, fabulous seating, washer/dryer...list goes on and on.) Then there is the "barn"...amazing setting yet again! Ping pong, dart board, music, t.v., more insane views of the lake, comfortable sleeping quarters...our kids LOVED this space!!! Will stay here again and again given the opportunity!!! The only downside was having to leave our furry friend at home. :)"

  • Grand Lake is Grand!

"We truly enjoyed our stay here at our rental house. It is very close to town and lakes as well as RMNP! It was well furnished and very comfortable. I would recommend it to any size group from a couple to 6-8 ppl. We most enjoyed the view and the privacy as it was just us two and our small doggie."
