  • Redstone #239857

"Wonderful Redstone property within walking distance to town. I loved the privacy and listening to the rush of the Crystal river. I used to visit Redstone as a child with my sisters and Mom and Dad. I've been going up to Redstone for years but I now went back for a visit with some of my sisters, my daughter and my grandchildren. This property is close to Marble, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. We spent our days visiting the sites and evenings at the house sitting outside on the great porch, barbecuing, sitting in the hot tub, playing on the large yard, eating on the patio. The stars are truly magnificant. I would recommend this property to anyone and hope to some day return."

  • Charm and all the comforts of home...you won't want to leave!

"We stayed at the Gamekeeper's Cottage during our recent 4 day visit to Redstone to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We were seeking quiet, cozy surroundings to get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy days in DFW, and what we found was a gem of a town that will be a retreat for us year after year. The Cottage has all the comforts of home...and them some. (We don't have a wood burning fireplace in our home, so that was a treat for us and we used it every day of our stay.) We were able to cook if we wanted to (kitchen was stocked with dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker and french press, condiments, utensils, etc.), or hop in our Jeep for a quick ride up to the Inn. Janette was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and everyone in Redstone was about as sweet as they come (and everyone knows everyone). Also provided: TV, DVD collection (great choices, too), cozy master, furnished master bath with heated floors, and a jacuzzi that served as the perfect place to take in the breathtaking view of the stars at night. (The photos and description seen here are faithful to the property.) Redstone itself is within a two minute drive of the cottage, and I imagine it's an easy walk as well (we had our rental so we just used it). This was the perfect home base for our Colorado getaway (we also spent a little time in Carbondale, which was great, and Aspen, which we'd pass on again). Whether you're seeking a romantic trip to the mountains with your love--complete with robes (provided), a warm fire (tools provided), hot tub (provided), and champagne (grab a bottle at the G Store, though don't be surprised if J&J leave you a little something)--or you want to reconnect with family and friends (dive into the board games, cards, DVDs, or head outside to play horseshoes or enjoy some coffee in the adirondack chairs strewn about the lovely lawn), this cottage is the perfect place to make memories that you will treasure for years to come. Just read through all of the sweet memories captured in the Guest Book over the years. You'll understand quickly why those who have had the pleasure of staying at GC don't ever want to leave, and can't wait to go back! Tip: Take the Castle tour and definitely have dinner at least once at Red's, the dining room at the Inn (best steak my husband ever had...and we eat well)."

  • Perfect Getaway

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Icehouse. The property was in excellent condition. Very clean and comfortable. Bob was very welcoming and gave us some helpful advice on hikes as well as good spots on McClure Pass to watch the Pro Cycle Challenge. The Crystal Valley is beautiful and we'll definitely return to Icehouse to enjoy it again!"
