"This house accommodated our big family and nobody felt cramped. Plenty of room to spread out and yet all be together in one place. It might be a little dated but clean and welcoming. Highly recommend this home."Guest: Cindy Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 1, 2014View listing
"We had a great stay at the Condo in Snowmass. It is literally 100 meters down the hill from the Snowmass Village, so you can walk to a number of great shops and restaurants. We were there in Summer and had a really great stay. We would definitely rent from Missy again. I imagine this is the ideal place for ski season as well, as you can walk to the mountain and ski back to your condo every afternoon. Also it is a two bedroom, but the bunk bed you see in the picture is really like a King on bottom, so very comfortable for a couple to sleep in. Very nice place, great location, and we highly recommend it."Guest: Matt Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 18, 2014View listing
"35 inches of snow the weekend before we arrived made the skiing one of the best we had experienced. It was our first trip to the Aspen/Snowmass area and we wanted to ski all of the area resorts, so instead of finding the usual “ski-in ski-out” condo, we looked for a local ski house for our base. I was attracted to the house by the photos on the website, and by the price. I contacted the owner and was impressed with how friendly and helpful he was. Based on the correspondence we decided to book the house for the week. Everything was perfect. The house was everything the photos show it to be. The location was great – in a quiet hillside neighborhood with a wonderful view of the valley and mountains. Two of our mornings the sky was clear so we had beautiful sunrises (most of the windows of the house face east, so you can’t miss the sunrises). It is barely a 2 mile drive to the Snowmass village, and about an 8 mile drive to the Aspen area resorts, so the drive was short. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill which would be a bit of a walk, but do-able. The owner provided a parking permit for the Snowmass Village parking area which was very nice. The kitchen was just like home, and well apportioned. If you like to cook you will find every gadget, measuring device, bowl, pot, pan, knife (about 30 knives sticking out of 2 wooden knife holders), turners, whiskers, that you could possibly want. The pantry was much better stocked than we have experienced at any of the condos we have rented – check to see what’s there before making the shopping trip. The house and bedrooms have a roomy and comfortable feel. The water heater in the laundry room is the biggest I have ever seen – there was plenty of water for each of us to have a nice hot shower after a day of skiing. And the electric blanket on each bed was a very nice touch. The house has wireless internet, and none of us had any trouble with phone reception. I had thought this trip to the Aspen area would be a once only trip but I loved the skiing (particularly the Highlands) and the ski house was fantastic, so now a return trip is definitely a possibility."Guest: Alex Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: February 10, 2014View listing
"I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived for my stay. This is a lovely little condo, with many nice amenities! The master bed is very comfortable and I had two weeks of restful sleep. The kitchen had everything I needed for cooking -pots, pans, dishes. I would gladly stay here again!"Guest: R M T Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 25, 2014View listing
Snowmass Travel Tips
Snowmass Village is home to Snowmass Mountain, a popular ski area in Colorado with a summit of 4,406 vertical feet that features 3,332 acres of terrain with 94 trails and 21 chair lifts.
There is always something to do in Snowmass whether you're visiting during the summer or winter months. In the summer, try ballooning or paragliding over the area for breathtaking views that you'll never forget or try the rock climbing wall and Eurobungy trampoline. Disc golf is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, so why not learn how to play it on the side of Snowmass Mountain during your family vacation? Horseback riding, hiking, kayaking and rafting are other popular activities to participate in warmer weather.
During the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snowshoe tours or just taking your turn skiing or tubing down the mountain before taking the lifts back to the top.
The 18-hole, par-72 Snowmass Club Golf Course is another vacation must-see. This semi-private course has a learning center, practice area and clubhouse that's home to the Black Saddle Bar and Grille. Also at the golf club are 11 outdoor tennis courts where you can play a pick-up game or take lessons.
If the weather turns sour during your visit, head to Slopeside Lanes Bowling Alley for a night of fun. Here there are eight full-sized lanes and a lounge area equipped with a full bar, locally brewed beers, a wood-fired oven for pizza and upscale bar food.
