Recent The Rockies property reviews

  • Nice place, great location, friendly owners

"Stayed here with a group of 5 and had a fun time spring skiing. The owners were responsive, and cooperative in the booking process. The condo was just the right size for our group, and even had an extra cot in the closet so all 5 of us had a bed to sleep in. Hot tub and pool and very near by, and gondola is a 15 min walk, or 5 min bus ride away."

  • Great summer condo - quiet, looks out on green, great amenities, close to south side food

"We had a great time. Our needs are simple so didn’t make use of much of the great stuff you’ve equipped the place with. Things we particularly liked as summertime guests: The unit faces east with big livingroom “windows” (patio door) to let light in and natural view. Great in early morning and after 1pm. Looked out over mostly natural landscape – did not look directly out at buildings that are close by. Nice balcony, in shade during afternoon and evening. Nice size living room with overstuffed arm chairs as well as a sofa. Not a lot of party noise – and the notorious trains were a non-issue. Quite close to grocery stores and south side restaurants. Glad we brought our own 100 watt light bulbs along to read with, just like just about every place these days. Don’t be surprised if you hear from us again soon."

  • Family Weekend in the Mtns

"My parents and I stayed here in late June for a weekend family getaway and it was a perfect base for exploring all that Steamboat has to offer. The space was exceptionally clean and well-provisioned -- all rooms are true to the photos and description on VRBO. The view is beautiful and the unit is quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Randy was very responsive and great to work with - he promptly answered all of our questions. The Rockies complex is centrally located- a short drive (~10min) into town and was easy to find. We appreciated the bike rental coupon and used it to explore the local bike path by the river. We also got in some rafting and a few outstanding hikes in the area. We even saw the ski jumpers practicing at Howelsen Hill! The pool and hot tub were a welcome treat at the end of the day. We cooked one night using the Rockies community grilling area (great gas grills, located just a short walk across the parking area from the condo) and went into town on another evening. All in all a wonderful weekend and we look forward to staying at Randy's place again for future vacations!"

The Rockies Travel Tips

Whether you come to ski, raft, ride horses or visit the hot springs make your base at Rockies condos. Choosing Steamboat Springs vacation rentals puts you in the center of all of the activity and in a place that will feel just like home.

Rockies Condos Make it Easy to Enjoy the Moutains

The big attraction in Steamboat Springs is the Rocky Mountains. Located in northwest Colorado, Steamboat Springs is about 150 miles from Denver and features several peaks including Mount Werner which reaches 10,568 feet at the top. The skiing is the big reason people choose Rockies lodging with almost 3,000 acres of trails to explore.

Champagne Powder Snow

Skiers love coming to slopes in Steamboat Springs because of the champagne powder snow. Like the sparkling drink, the snow is very smooth and very dry and is perfect for skiing. The conditions high in the mountains are perfect in northwest Colorado for this type of snow ,which is abundant from November through March. You will have a gorgeous view of the snow caps from your Rockies lodging.

Not Just About the Skiing

While skiing and snow boarding are the big draws, there is so much more to do while staying in Rockies condos at Steamboat Springs. No matter the season, it is fun to hike or bike through the mountains. Horseback riding is a favorite activity as well and you can even arrange a ride on a one horse open sleigh. The Yampa Valley of Steamboat Springs is known for its many arts festivals and cultural activities. A great time to visit is during the first week in February when the annual winter carnival takes place. The event features a parade with a school marching band on skis, but then again, what else would you expect in a place that calls itself Ski Town USA?
