"We stayed at this very comfortable house with a group of 4 - myself, my husband and two adult children. Everything we could possibly need was provided and the house owner, Bill, was never more than a phone call away and couldn't have been more helpful. Note: if you use the fireplace, don't forget to open the damper first! The location is to the West of Vail, very close to two large supermarkets (Safeway and City Market) and several restaurants (Westside Cafe is very well known) and fast food outlets. We drove from Denver during a huge winter storm and did have a bit of a challenge getting our two wheel drive Dodge Caravan up the very icy roads, we did eventually discover the least steep option and made it to the house in one piece! We skied/snowboarded every day, and took Bill's advice to drive down the hill (2 minutes), where there is free parking very close to the shuttle bus stop. This avoided the climb up the hill to the house in the evening - doable, but not fun as the only options were to trek through deep snow, or up steep icy roads. The shuttle buses were very regular, and the drivers very helpful, the trip to the slopes taking around 20 minutes (with lots of stops to let people off and on). We drove to Beaver Creek one day, and were surprised at how close it was. The skiing was quite different to Vail, not as challenging, and not as dauntingly huge! Once we got used to Vail we loved it, especially Blue Sky Basin where I (a 50 year old, Advanced/Intermediate skiier) had some of the best skiing of my life. The more adventurous members of our group were in skiers heaven!"Guest: Tracey M. Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 1, 2014View listing
"We had 4 families with 2-3 kids per family and it was beyond perfect. The kids played shuffleboard, Xbox, and games while the adults stayed upstairs in the spacious Living Area. The home is decorated with great and extremely comfortable. We were lucky to have an abundance of snow and made it to both Vail and Beaver Creek. We will definitely be back next year!!! Thanks."Guest: Powder Hog Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: February 26, 2014View listing
"We rented this lovely home while we were in Vail for our daughter's wedding. The pictures accurately show all the rooms and amenities, but it exceeded our expectations! This rental is so clean and well maintained-it truly feels like a home. We shared it with another family and found we had plenty of space for everyone! The fully stocked kitchen made meal time a pleasure and we enjoyed the hot tub every evening. Monica was so easy to communicate with and answered any questions promptly. We felt this was a real value for our money and would highly recommend it."Guest: Arlene Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 1, 2014View listing
"This home exceeded our expectations by far. We really enjoyed the proximity to town along with extremely private grounds. It's very modern and open, but there is still enough interior privacy that accommodated our large family nicely. Definitely coming back!!!"Guest: msjack Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: May 29, 2014View listing
West Vail Travel Tips
Take Your Vacation to West Vail Vacation Rentals
Vail is probably best known for its unparalleled skiing and snowboarding. However, each season in Vail brings new and exciting attractions for vacationers. No matter which season you decide to vacation in Vail, you want the best West Vail lodging to make the most of your stay. Lodging at one of the West Vail vacation rentals is your best option because these rentals provide much more privacy and space than you would find at a typical hotel.
Vail Winter Wonderland
You must try skiing and snowboarding if you are visiting Vail in the winter. Vacationers often bring their gear when staying in one of the West Vail vacation rentals but you can rent gear from Ski Depot Sports or another shop if you prefer. One unique way to tour Vail's breathtaking landscape is a nighttime snowshoeing tour. The nighttime tour by Moonlight Snowshoe Tours allows you to learn about Vail's nighttime wildlife and see the area in a new way.
Plan an Adventure
Plan a kayaking or canoeing excursion during your summer stay at one of the Vail cabins. These excursions allow you to tour the area's rivers while marveling in the beauty of the mountainous landscape. If you prefer to create your own kayaking tour, you can first take kayaking lessons from Alpine Quest Sports and then hit the river to begin your adventure.
Melt Away Your Stress
One of the best ways to relax after a few hours on the slopes or after a kayaking trip is to dine out for a great meal and a few drinks. Popular restaurants include Bistro Fourteen and Game Creek Restaurant. Of course, if you want to stay in for the evening, you can cook your meal at your West Vail vacation lodging destination.
