"My family (2 adults, 1 teenage boy) stayed here to ski at Vail over President's Day weekend. We arrived in the dark, in the middle of a raging snowstorm, and entering the unit felt like arriving home . . . cozy, warm and inviting. The property is wonderful. The beds are very comfy (warm down comforters!) for a good night's sleep, and the kitchen is well-equipped so we could make hearty breakfasts in the morning before heading out to the hill as well as complete dinners in the evenings. (The grocery stores, Safeway and City Market, are only about 5 minutes away.) There is a jacuzzi tub in the guest bathroom - both bathrooms are recently updated - to soak after a long day of skiing. The property has a good-sized deck (with a gas grill) that was too snow covered for us to use on this trip, but we plan to go back in the summer and test it out. There are no neighbors behind, so it looks out into the woods; it is quite lovely. We intend to return to the property -- our new favorite in the Vail area -- and would definitely recommend it to anyone with 1 - 2 kids. You could probably bring 3 kids if 2 of them will sleep together on the Queen bed in the second bedroom; there is a pull out sofa in the living room. I would note that there are quite a few stairs necessary to reach the property, so I would probably caution folks with significant mobility issues."Guest: Leslie D. "My sister and I met in this location for a week's vacation with our families. It is an equal distance drive from LA and St. Louis, where we each live. The house is very spacious and was comfortable for 4 adults and 3 kids (3.5, 6 & 7). The aspen grove out back was a perfect place for the kids to play wiffle ball, ride bikes, skateboard and play on the rope swing, while the adults could relax on the back deck. The pool was really close and very nice (please note that it is not free and can get pricey with a big crew for multiple days). Eagle-Vail is just minutes from Beaver Creek and Vail so there is tons to do. In addition to a couple of pool days, we went hiking, river-rafting, fishing, shopping, etc. The owner was very responsive when we had questions and they clearly keep the place clean and in order. We were disappointed that there was no grill but the local Home Depot has inexpensive charcoal grills that foot the bill. The water pressure in the showers is a little like the three bears--one is a trickle, one is just right, and one is a blaster, but that is no big deal. There is a smart TV so you can watch your Netflix or Amazon Prime accounts, which was a great addition, especially when we needed to entertain the kiddos in the evenings. There is also reliable wifi, which we appreciated. The owner's restaurant recommendations were also good--Henry's Chinese Café and Pazzo Pizza filled the gaps when our Costco supplies ran out. Safeway is also only about 10 minutes away. This is a great place to stay in a great location. We can't wait to go back!"Guest: Sho Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 17, 2014View listing
"We had a fantastic vacation in Vail, partly because we chose to rent this condo/apartment versus staying in an expensive resort. The location couldn't be more convenient and we had the privacy of our own place. The kitchen was perfect for what we needed and allowed us to eat-in, instead of dining out. There is a grill and a hot tub outside and inside is very cozy and has plenty of space (we are a family of 4). The owner provided a list of local attractions and activities, as well as suggestions for places to eat and shop. This condo is located near two very good grocery stores, as well. We really had a great time and the owner is so nice and very easy to work with. Going to Vail in June (versus the Winter ski-season) turned out to be one of the best trips our family has ever taken. We did horseback riding, hiking, fly fishing and white water rafting. There is just so much to do in Vail in the Summer. I highly recommend this location for its price, comfort and proximity to everything you want to do."Guest: Robyn O. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 9, 2014View listing
"My extended family had a wonderful time at your home. Thank you for all your help and a be so accommodating on our departure day. The views from many of the rooms and the hot tub was stunning. Your location was close enough to everything in Vail yet we felt we had the mountain to ourselves. Plenty if dishes and things to have a big steak BBQ and we had additional local guests of my son for dinner. All in all a fantastic stay. Thanks very much."Guest: Alz Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 12, 2014View listing
West Vail Travel Tips
Take Your Vacation to West Vail Vacation Rentals
Vail is probably best known for its unparalleled skiing and snowboarding. However, each season in Vail brings new and exciting attractions for vacationers. No matter which season you decide to vacation in Vail, you want the best West Vail lodging to make the most of your stay. Lodging at one of the West Vail vacation rentals is your best option because these rentals provide much more privacy and space than you would find at a typical hotel.
Vail Winter Wonderland
You must try skiing and snowboarding if you are visiting Vail in the winter. Vacationers often bring their gear when staying in one of the West Vail vacation rentals but you can rent gear from Ski Depot Sports or another shop if you prefer. One unique way to tour Vail's breathtaking landscape is a nighttime snowshoeing tour. The nighttime tour by Moonlight Snowshoe Tours allows you to learn about Vail's nighttime wildlife and see the area in a new way.
Plan an Adventure
Plan a kayaking or canoeing excursion during your summer stay at one of the Vail cabins. These excursions allow you to tour the area's rivers while marveling in the beauty of the mountainous landscape. If you prefer to create your own kayaking tour, you can first take kayaking lessons from Alpine Quest Sports and then hit the river to begin your adventure.
Melt Away Your Stress
One of the best ways to relax after a few hours on the slopes or after a kayaking trip is to dine out for a great meal and a few drinks. Popular restaurants include Bistro Fourteen and Game Creek Restaurant. Of course, if you want to stay in for the evening, you can cook your meal at your West Vail vacation lodging destination.
