  • Way beyond our expectations!

"We were seeking a last minute getaway for a large group and The Big Horn Lodge seemed to fit the bill. Carol, the manager, was very clear that the house wasn't a luxury home, but had a great location and a lot of bedrooms and bathrooms. We were shocked when we arrived. I guess that it can't be considered truly luxurious, but it had everything we needed and more. The living room was enormous and we all loved the dining room table which seated us all comfortably. I had read a few of the reviews and managed my expectations for the kitchen, but it was great! It had two of every appliance and plenty of dishware, glasses, and everything else. We called Amy once with questions about the hot tub and she was great to work with. Kevin arrived within minutes to show us what we were doing wrong and managed not to make us feel like idiots in the process. I can't say enough good things about this house and this company and we will return!"

  • Blue River Paradise

"We spent a fabulous week at this beautiful home. The pictures don't truly reflect the true beauty and size of this home. The house is huge with enough space for family gatherings or spreading out for a little quiet time. Kitchen well stocked - we didn't lack for anything. Snow sleds, shoes, toboggans made for a great time during our stay. House was warm and cozy in the midst of a beautiful snowfall. Would go back again and again!!!"

Northwest Travel Tips

Northwest Colorado Lodging for Expansive Western Adventures

Come enjoy the expansive western landscape of Northwest Colorado and experience the local history, cultures and wildlife. Northwest Colorado lodging is ideal for the avid hunter, explorer or even the family looking to experience the historical influences of past outlaws and homesteads.

Choose Northwest Colorado Lodging and Schedule a Big Game Hunt

Even if you’ve never been hunting before, you’ll love a weekend of capturing elk and deer near your mountain cabins in Colorado. Experience them in their natural habitat, and learn new skills in the process. Special hunts are also organized for kids only and first-timers to teach basic safety procedures that are so important. Send them off for a few days while the adults enjoy activities at the many resorts in Colorado, too.

Take a Wild Horse Tour near Mountain Cabins in Colorado

Experience the wild horses that live in the plains surrounding your Northwest Colorado lodging by scheduling a special tour the entire family will enjoy. Spend one day or several camping in the open lands near the mountain cabins in Colorado, and take plenty of photos to remember your adventure. Day tours, in 4x4s, designed to see the horses are also quite popular for a simple change of pace from the everyday resorts in Colorado.

Unique Resorts in Colorado Offer Access to Working Ranches

If you love to always be busy while on vacation, stay in Northwest Colorado lodging options that place you in the middle of a working dude ranch. Feed the horses and clean stalls, then round up the cattle with the other guests who are staying in mountain cabins in Colorado.

Family-style dinners can be included with some packages, so you’ll enjoy meeting with other guests. After a few days of hard work and fun learning experiences, you can return to your choice in resorts in Colorado for plenty of pampering and relaxation during the remainder of your vacation.
