  • Most Unbelievable Views!!! We Can't Wait to Visit Again!!!

"I don't even know where to begin with this review. There are so many wonderful things I can say about this home and the sweet little town of Grand Lake! First of all...we were blown away to walk in the door and see the amazing views of Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake which were both still frozen. The snow covered mountains that sat behind them were absolutely beautiful! Most of our time there was spent on one of the huge decks that face the lakes...truly a view that would never get old! The home itself was spacious, clean, well equipped with everything you need and so warm and inviting. And...the state of the art sound system was definitely a bonus. While there, we were visited almost daily by the neighborhood moose and a herd of elk. We also had a visit from a chipmunk and a fox. We went snowmobiling one day (a ton of fun!), hiked to Adams Falls (definitely worth the hike) and checked out many of the small shops and restaurants. The Sage Brush Grill and Fat Cat Café had fabulous food and all of the locals we met were kind and helpful. This trip was only my husband and I along with my parents. None of us have one negative thing to say about our experience and we can not wait to visit again! Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of Heaven! This will definitely be the home we rent next time we visit and hopefully it will be soon!"

  • Great Family Spring Break trip!

"We stayed for 6 nights with 3 adults and 4 kids, and had a great time with plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed. You can tell this house is well loved and it was fun to see how the owners' personalities are present throughout (unlike many other rentals that are set up as intentionally generic and lacking character). You can tell from the pictures that this house has a lot of style, and although it's a modern building the decor will make you feel you're in a Victorian-era home. As others have mentioned, the kitchen is well-stocked and the bathroom towels are plentiful. It is an easy walk to the gondola for snowboarding each day, and on the way back it was such a luxury to catch the free shuttle that drops you off just 1 block from the house - it's really a great location for skiing/snowboarding and for strolling downtown for a cup of coffee, dinner, etc. We did not use the hot tub so can't comment on that -- the kids were happy to hang out in the living room watching Food Network each night and we sort of forgot the hot tub was there?!?! The owner, Ted, was very responsive and made the whole process very easy and enjoyable."

  • A True Mountain Home

"We have stayed at this property twice over the last three years and it has become a destination for our family. Each bedroom is incredibly comfortable, warm, and cozy. The kitchen is setup the way we wish we had ours setup at home.....and this is truly a "home". All the personal touches in each room are testimony to the owners taste and desire to share their vision for what a mountain home high in the Rockies should be like. Once you stay here you will be back because it is a great home away from home."

Northwest Travel Tips

Northwest Colorado Lodging for Expansive Western Adventures

Come enjoy the expansive western landscape of Northwest Colorado and experience the local history, cultures and wildlife. Northwest Colorado lodging is ideal for the avid hunter, explorer or even the family looking to experience the historical influences of past outlaws and homesteads.

Choose Northwest Colorado Lodging and Schedule a Big Game Hunt

Even if you’ve never been hunting before, you’ll love a weekend of capturing elk and deer near your mountain cabins in Colorado. Experience them in their natural habitat, and learn new skills in the process. Special hunts are also organized for kids only and first-timers to teach basic safety procedures that are so important. Send them off for a few days while the adults enjoy activities at the many resorts in Colorado, too.

Take a Wild Horse Tour near Mountain Cabins in Colorado

Experience the wild horses that live in the plains surrounding your Northwest Colorado lodging by scheduling a special tour the entire family will enjoy. Spend one day or several camping in the open lands near the mountain cabins in Colorado, and take plenty of photos to remember your adventure. Day tours, in 4x4s, designed to see the horses are also quite popular for a simple change of pace from the everyday resorts in Colorado.

Unique Resorts in Colorado Offer Access to Working Ranches

If you love to always be busy while on vacation, stay in Northwest Colorado lodging options that place you in the middle of a working dude ranch. Feed the horses and clean stalls, then round up the cattle with the other guests who are staying in mountain cabins in Colorado.

Family-style dinners can be included with some packages, so you’ll enjoy meeting with other guests. After a few days of hard work and fun learning experiences, you can return to your choice in resorts in Colorado for plenty of pampering and relaxation during the remainder of your vacation.
