  • Excellent and very comfortable mountain home that comes with a residential Bull-Moose

"We spent a week hiking the local trails around Breckenridge and down towards Aspen via Rt 91 and 24. Tom and Kris' mountain house is very comfortable, well furnished, relatively remote (trees on both sides provides some privacy from the neighbors), and fully equipped for our work-vacation stay. Bonus was the hot tub which was a perfect way to relax after a full day of hiking from 9,000 feet to 13,000 feet for 4 to 6 hours. Couple of items for future guests to note: (1) The house is located at 9,800 feet. So, plan for a couple of 3 to 4 days to adjust to that altitude for sleeping, walking, and exercise. Drink plenty of water! (2) The days are warm and the nights are cool in August....the master bath on the first floor doesn't get a lot of heat....so, prep your feet for a chilly tiled floor on your wake-up visit to the bathroom. (3) The road to the house is mostly dirt from both directions....in the summer, a regular 2-wheel drive vehicle is all that is needed.....but, in the snow months, I highly recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle. (4) The wifi is excellent and fast. Both of us had work to do, and good wifi and cell services are a must for our vacations. (5) The commute from Denver International Airport (DIA) is roughly 2-hours if traffic is flowing. Caution....if you arrive at DIA and travel on Friday afternoon, be prepared for a long trip to Breckenridge and any other place heading west on I-70 as many folks from Denver head to the mountains for the weekend. Same situation applies if you're returning to DIA on a Sunday. And, (6) a big thank you to Tom and Kris for an effortless rental and providing such a wonderful house to stay. I use VRBO to find all my vacation rentals both for personal and my ski and scuba dive groups. Tom and Kris' house information on VRBO is very accurate, except Tom needs to include a note about the residential Bull-Moose that likes to have a sunny nap in the backyard. The Moose showed up twice during our stay....around 3pm and left around 6pm.....wandering in from the side of the house with the hot tub, down the back hill feeding, then coming up the hill on the other side of the house to settled down for a nap in the sun. Pretty cool and I took some awesome pictures without having to disturb or make him anxious about our presence."

  • Great place to end the Summer!

"We celebrated an anniversary and the Labor Day Weekend in this fantastic Copper condo. This condo is in a great location. A view of the lake, town, and mountains, great restaurants and shopping are all easily walkable. We found the best restaurants are 1 block away. It's well appointed and decorated nicely throughout. The kitchen is also well equipped. Both the owners and the on site manager were extremely hospitable and helpful. Highly recommend staying here!! Art and Dianna Denver"

  • Back for my third or is it my fourth season.

"My home away from home. I found the unit exceptionally clean and comfortable this year. The owner has been very helpful and has responded to the few concerns I may have had. A brand new sofa this year and it is so very comfortable. I had company for a week this year (excluding family) and they were very impressed. Found the beds very comfortable. Unit is large enough to accommodate 2 families with enough privacy. Unit is well appointed with lots of extras to make it feel like home. So very convenient."

  • Keeping it simple on Main Street

"Everything you need is at this condo. Well laid out and very comfortable. Even a nail salon downstairs for the queen. Out the door and walk a few feet for a free shuttle to Copper mountain and Breckenridge. It was nice to find a washer and dryer in the condo as well. Great restaurants and shops within walking distance helped make my stay one of the best. Be sure to check out the museum across the street. Very interesting history about the town."

Northwest Travel Tips

Northwest Colorado Lodging for Expansive Western Adventures

Come enjoy the expansive western landscape of Northwest Colorado and experience the local history, cultures and wildlife. Northwest Colorado lodging is ideal for the avid hunter, explorer or even the family looking to experience the historical influences of past outlaws and homesteads.

Choose Northwest Colorado Lodging and Schedule a Big Game Hunt

Even if you’ve never been hunting before, you’ll love a weekend of capturing elk and deer near your mountain cabins in Colorado. Experience them in their natural habitat, and learn new skills in the process. Special hunts are also organized for kids only and first-timers to teach basic safety procedures that are so important. Send them off for a few days while the adults enjoy activities at the many resorts in Colorado, too.

Take a Wild Horse Tour near Mountain Cabins in Colorado

Experience the wild horses that live in the plains surrounding your Northwest Colorado lodging by scheduling a special tour the entire family will enjoy. Spend one day or several camping in the open lands near the mountain cabins in Colorado, and take plenty of photos to remember your adventure. Day tours, in 4x4s, designed to see the horses are also quite popular for a simple change of pace from the everyday resorts in Colorado.

Unique Resorts in Colorado Offer Access to Working Ranches

If you love to always be busy while on vacation, stay in Northwest Colorado lodging options that place you in the middle of a working dude ranch. Feed the horses and clean stalls, then round up the cattle with the other guests who are staying in mountain cabins in Colorado.

Family-style dinners can be included with some packages, so you’ll enjoy meeting with other guests. After a few days of hard work and fun learning experiences, you can return to your choice in resorts in Colorado for plenty of pampering and relaxation during the remainder of your vacation.
