  • Perfect for families

"I had the pleasure of staying a long weekend with my husband and 2 year old son. The owners are excellent to work with and the condo was wonderful. Very warm and comfortable. I love that they have everything you need. From dish soap to cooking utensils, this place really is stocked for comfort. It's in an excellent location on peak 8. Very close to downtown and the grocery store is only 5 minutes away. Having the option to cook your own meals is a huge money saver and stress relief if you don't want to go out. The hot tub is so close, maybe 50 feet away and was never crowded. Our son loved having his own room and bed. Overall, this place is fantastic! We will most certainly be staying again and would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable stay in Breckenridge."

  • great Summit County location

"Fantastic condo for ski or bike season. Stayed for 2 nights while my 11 y/o attended a ski camp at Woodward at Copper. Frisco is a great location, close to numerous ski resorts, plus the ability to walk to Frisco Main Street restaurants. Condo had everything we needed; concise check-in/out info made getting into the condo easy. Will be staying here again."

  • Simply a special place

"After a 6-night stay at The End Of The Road Ranch and the best Christmas ever our family returned home. No one wanted to leave this special place. Upon arrival our breath was taken away. Before us was a beautiful vista of fenced ranchland, pastured horses, charming buildings and fresh snow. The owner spent two days preparing the property for us. Roads were plowed, walkways cleared, firewood ready, and 2 potbelly stoves warmed the Main house. We slept in the Main house, Water house and Bunk house. The ranch comfortably accommodates 6 people in the winter and more in other seasons. The Main house has a king bed, a rain shower, an eclectic, compact kitchen with an early 1900’s gas Pioneer stove. Here we created delicious meals and enjoyed them around a dining table that was once a grandfather’s oak desk. When we were not outdoors snowshoeing, exploring East Elk Creek and the ranch, we were usually in the Main house cooking, reading, and playing games. This house is filled with light, decorated in colorful flags and cloth, exceptional photographs and fabulous books. The Water house and the Bunk house, short walks from the Main house, have comfortable double beds and are warmed with radiant floor heat. The Water House has a fantastic rain shower and clawfoot bathtub plus a washer and dryer. The Bunk house has a bathroom with tub, and a kitchen with an electric stove and oven. An outdoor fire pit near the Main house is perfect for playing guitar and watching the moon and stars. Along East Elk Creek which flows through the ranch the owner has built a relaxing sauna. What makes this ranch special is the owner himself. Invite him in for a cup of tea and you may just find yourself mentally on a trek in Bhutan. He has worked all over the world as a professional photographer. His remarkable images are on the walls. He checks in daily to be sure guests are comfortable. End of the Road Ranch has been created out of the owner’s vision and many years of hard work. Everything on the property has been constructed by hand and has a story. It is not filled with modern things but with useful, interesting things. It’s a place of happy memories, a place to live in natural beauty and quietude. Come with a sense of adventure and an open mind, you will leave with memories for a lifetime. You will also feel gratitude that you are “among the lucky ones”, who got the chance to experience such a unique and wonderful place. We will be coming back!"

  • Fan-freakin-tastic

"The cabin met and exceeded all of our expectations. It was perfect for a small group of 20-somethings looking to get away from it all while on break from graduate school. Half of us commuted to A-Basin to ski for three days (about 50 min), and the other half hung around the cabin and enjoyed the great weather we were having in mid-March. There are some great trails near the cabin that would also be great in the summer. There was also plenty of things to do and plenty of space in the cabin to entertain yourselves if you were to get stuck in the cabin for some reason. We were also glad to have four-wheeled-drive during this time of year as it was getting pretty sloppy on the road getting up to the cabin. Overall, it was a great stay. We can't wait to go back."

Choose Northwest Colorado Lodging and Schedule a Big Game Hunt

Experience them in their natural habitat, and learn new skills in the process. Special hunts are also organized for kids only and first-timers to teach basic safety procedures that are so important. Send them off for a few days while the adults enjoy activities at the many resorts in Colorado, too.

Take a Wild Horse Tour near Mountain Cabins in Colorado

Experience the wild horses that live in the plains surrounding your Northwest Colorado lodging by scheduling a special tour the entire family will enjoy. Spend one day or several camping in the open lands near the mountain cabins in Colorado, and take plenty of photos to remember your adventure. Day tours, in 4x4s, designed to see the horses are also quite popular for a simple change of pace from the everyday resorts in Colorado.

Unique Resorts in Colorado Offer Access to Working Ranches

If you love to always be busy while on vacation, stay in Northwest Colorado lodging options that place you in the middle of a working dude ranch. Feed the horses and clean stalls, then round up the cattle with the other guests who are staying in mountain cabins in Colorado.
