"My wife and I enjoyed our time at the Irish Rose. The location is great for those who like to be "in" the mountains truly experiencing mountain life. At the same time it is close to Breckenridge for great dining and shopping. We enjoyed jeeping, hiking and relaxing in the hot tub. The Irish Rose is very well equipped, comfortable and easy to use. Wildlife is abundant and fun to watch from the deck. A moose came within 50 yards, fox even closer, and birds galore. Great place to escape to!"

"Our family of 7 stayed here for the week of July 12th, for our first visit to amazing Colorado. We were pleased that this cabin is as beautiful as pictured and even roomier in person. Also, it's great that it comes so well equipped from the start with shampoo/soap etc. in the bathrooms, extra toilet paper/paper towels, etc. That's really a nice thoughtful touch! We enjoyed one evening by the fire pit (the guests before us did not leave water in the buckets by the fire pit as instructed but the guys in our group made sure to refill the buckets prior to our departure, for the next guests), using the grill and the wonderful hot tub. There was always plenty of hot water for cooking, showers, and washing clothes and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare several meals. We never ended up using the wood stove but it looks lovely for colder nights. The beds are all comfortable and after some of us got past the initial insomnia associated with altitude sickness, slept very soundly. Sadly, we never ended up seeing any bear or moose, but did enjoy feeding the various birds and chipmunks around the property. The starry nights by the campfire or on the deck were AMAZING. Nothing but peace and quiet, though we did meet a couple of neighbors on morning walks and they are friendly. The location is great - not far from town but definitely set back into the scenic woods/up the mountain a bit. We are very glad that we well prepared for this major road trip by renting a 4-wheel-drive vehicle since we knew that we would be driving on unpaved mountain roads, not only here near the house, but in other areas of Colorado as well. That, along with husband's expert driving, made the parking at the house (and driving up mountains) look easy though he did back down into the drive each time in order to get out easily (it's quite an incline). We all fell in love with both Alma and Fairplay - friendly, laid-back people and some cute shops and restaurants (we enjoyed McCall's in Fairplay). Stopped at High Paw Pet Supplies in Fairplay to buy some souvenirs (treats and toys) for our cats back home in Illinois and met Andre the Giant Cat and had a little mini tour of their rescue facility (great people!). Shopped regularly at Prather's Market in Fairplay and Al-Mart. We really enjoyed an adventurous drive up to Kite Lake. Loved Montogomery Reservoir, Breckenridge, Sand Dunes Nat. Park, Garden of the Gods... Nice to have had this beautiful house as our home base while in CO. : )"

"My family spent 10 days here this fall and it is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful hand carved beds, pool table, what looked like a new hot tub with an amazing view. I will be a life long visitor at this property."

"We spent five nights at this great cabin. Everything exceeded our expectations. The owners have done a great job of making the cabin warm and inviting. All of the amenities you could want are part of the package. Although not far from the highway and the small town of Alma, the cabin is secluded. It is located at the end of a cul de sac and surrounded by trees. The decks offer a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The hot tub was a big plus. The kitchen is fully equipped. Be sure to stock up on some groceries before arriving. If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, this is the property for you1"
