  • A piece of Heaven!!!

"My husband and I have returned for the second time! Absolutely perfect once again! We can't say enough about how gorgeous the property is and how wonderful the cabins are! We are planning our third trip there and can't wait to go back! It truly feels like home away from home! The owners keep the cabins immaculate and are there always if you need anything! Great people! Great times!"

  • This is the one you want!

"It's clear that lot of attention has gone into making this home a perfect vacation getaway. The house was immaculate. The views from the porch swing in the front, the views from the deck and hot tub in the back, and the views from every window throughout the house never let you forget that you're in the majestic Rockies. The property is very private. And even though it feels (quite blissfully) like you're totally disconnected from all of civilization, the drive out to local markets and restaurants is a just matter of minutes. Downtown Salida is unique and charming. It's very much like an art community of a larger city that found a way to escape and thrive on its own. Along the edge of the shops and eateries is a riverside park. It's beautiful and has a nice playground. Our favorite day was driving up to the ghost town of St. Elmo. The drive was spectacular. We passed many other landmarks along the way. We also meant to visit the local brewery (Elevation) but got distracted with our home base. I mean, we had a hike right out the back door, a private hot tub nestled among the most amazing views of the mountains, a romantic two-person shower, a closet full of games, music, and movies, a huge flatscreen television, wi-fi, a nice book collection, a pool table (alongside a large window with yet another gorgeous view), a popcorn maker, a large kitchen stocked with all the necessities, and delivery from local restaurants just a phone call away. Why leave? It was in fact was very hard to leave. Our four year old actually cried when we left. He said he was going to miss "our Colorado home and Spike." Our kids all made friends with the friendly cat (Spike) who lives on the property (his set-up is in the garage, he only comes in if you want him to), and they all fell in love with him. They cannot wait to visit Spike and our Colorado home again. My husband and I are already talking about returning to see what it's like in the summer. This place is magical! And the owners are super nice. They are attentive yet hands-off. Check-in was as simple as opening a lockbox. There was a detailed guide in the house and cabinets were even labeled. Really, I can't say enough great things about this place. We loved everything about it!"

  • home away was exactly what it was

"We went for a secluded getaway and that's what we got a home away from home Jody provided everything we needed to feel comfortable you couldn't want for nothing except more time to stay there. if your looking to stay in bed all day the bedroom is not for you like the complaint stated but you don't get away to stay indoors you enjoy the clean air and quite time because no one is around to bother you. You enjoy the hot tub watching the sun go down and the bright stars come out at night or you BBQ on the patio and eat on the picnic table under the trees. We are definitely coming back as a matter of fact I took lots of pictures and showed them off to my friends who were envious that we found a gem. I'm online making my reservations for a girls trip see I just got home can't wait to go back. I even asked my husband when can we go again. Wont let you down . Thank you Jody!!!!!"

  • Cozy cabin in the canyon

"My family of four had a great stay in the cabin. We chose it for the close proximity to hiking trails and rock climbing, and it was everything we hoped for. Mark was very responsive to questions, phone calls, and texts. The cabin had everything we needed to be comfortable, but my kids still felt like it was a big adventure. We built fires at night, played board games and really relaxed. It was wonderful. The funniest thing was the doll collection in the bedroom -- my 14 year old was a little nervous about what they might do to us while we slept. But we spoke very politely to them and left an offering of tea and biscuits, and we all woke up in the morning. :-) The cabin was so much better than a hotel room, and we would definitely stay here again. (Full disclosure -- we did not cook at all, but the kitchen seemed very well stocked and clean.)"
