  • Cozy and comfortable

"We spent 3 nights here with our 2 French Brittany's. Nice home. It's bigger than it looks. Clean and convenient location for day trips. Thanks!"

  • Fall Colors

"What a wonderful place to base all our adventures from. We walked a block to get to the Arkansas river and watched Kayakers play in the whitewater park then to the Eddie Line for dinner or lunch. The fall colors were amazing and easy to get to from this clean comfortable Condo. We were a little surprised of the amount of noise from the owners home above but definitely nothing that made our experience less than EXCELLENT. The owners are very helpful and friendly. We will be back!!!"

  • Excellent rental home, would rent again in a heartbeat!

"14 of us ended up traveling in a 15 passenger van to Colorado Springs. This house was perfect! Only 2 little boys slept on the floor only because they wanted to be close to mom. They could have slept on a sofa. The layout of the house was perfect. The price was perfect too! My only Con is that I felt the bed sheets were not fresh but a couple of minutes to change them was all it took and I really can't complain. We were very comfortable in the home. Things I didn't know beforehand that are good to know..... I was a bit confused about how many beds and didn't find the sleeper sofa until the next day because I was looking for a futon. :) Here is what we found: 1 King Master Bedroom, 1 Queen Bedroom 2, 1 Queen Bedroom 3, 1 Full Bedroom 4, 1 Single open area/room, 1 Full Sleeper Sofa Living Area. Nearby (probably a mile away) a grocery store, a Walmart, a Chase bank, a McDonald's. Even though the house feels like you are out in a wooded area, the highway is not far at all which I loved. If there is no snow in Colorado Springs and you want to see snow, Breckenridge is only 2.5 hrs away and there is lots of snow there and beautiful!! From this location (the house) it is faster to go up through Denver Colorado as apposed to through Manitou like was suggested to me. Although going through manitou (i believe hwy 24) was much prettier road trip (lots of snowy mountains and on the sides of the highway, also there are farms with animals to see - a type of deer and buffalo) than on the way back when we went through Denver Colorado. Plus even though it's closer through Denver we got a lot of traffic, not sure if it was the day/time, but we ended up making 3 hours anyway. FYI. If you do not like steep hills to drive on I would avoid the Cave of the Winds. Once you start going up there is no stopping until you are at the very top and feel sick to your stomach at the thought of what the trip down will be like. Well, I was in a 15 passenger van and it was getting ready to rain so I was nearly having a panic attack. It actually turned out to be just fine (going about 10 mi./hr). But just FYI if you don't like driving up/down steep hills. Everything in Colorado Springs is within 15-30 min distance from the rental house. No one was complaining. This house accommodated all 14 of us perfectly. Everyone loved the wooded area where it was located. Some of us saw big deer in the backyard with big antlers!! I would highly recommend it!!"

  • Charming home

"About 15 minutes West of Salida out highway 50. It is next to the road, but other than the occasional good luck Honk, you dont hear it. Plenty of room for 8-10 comfortably.. More than that requires some extra effort, but there's room for it w/the couches and extra mattresses. Grounds need to be better maintained to limit spring/summer bugs..we would have handled that, but couldnt find a weed-eater. Great porch with the stream/little river right behind it. Fantastic views each AM.. We used the firepit for s'mores etc every night and morning.. House is older so it does have an 'older house smell', but I loved it. Reminded me of Grandmas. all appliances worked well.. Upstairs shower has low water pressure, but all other facilities were great.. Tub was perfect. We had a great 4 night stay with 9 people..for family reunion in Salida during FIBARK! Will be back!"
