"Great place to stay...close enough to everything, you can even walk to some places yet it's your own little hideaway...nice & private. Wildlife every morning and evening, hubby even had a deer walk up and sniff his knee :) we felt very at home here. Large enough that everyone had their own space but yet had some great family time! Loved open floor plan on main level. All the windows really made the mornings relaxing and the evenings a great place to unwind! Owner is very nice if you have any question prior/during your visit. I will say my concern was elevation at least for my parents but we had no issues. The stairs were lil much but they did it (stubborn ;) ...there is a side and back entrance that would make it much easier for anyone who thinks they wouldn't like the stairs. But very happy to report it was all very safe and no issues!! Overall a 10 ☆ place we all enjoyed."

"We loved our time here and will book again! The guesthouse is meticulously clean, well stocked, and managed! The Holts were very welcoming. Our family of three stayed here for 5 days. The location is central to the things we wanted to do in Colorado. The guesthouse is so beautiful on the inside and the mountain views were amazing. Great accommodations for a family!!"

Wonderful Stay in Clean, Bright, Beautiful Log Home
"My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights. We were impressed by how beautiful and spacious it was. It was very clean, with nice linens and towels. The kitchen had everything one might want for cooking and baking and a convenient dishwasher. We ate most meals in, but we found the restaurants in Fairplay to provide good food and pleasant service in a casual atmosphere.
I found having a clothes washer and dryer very convenient. There are three fireplaces and I especially enjoyed reading in the rocking chair in front of the fireplace with gas logs in the living room.
We used the house as a base to travel the area each day, driving up into the mountains and exploring the region around Fairplay. We saw elk, deer, antelope, and a coyote from the deck. And on one of our drives we encountered a tiny weasel carrying a large dead rat from his hollow up the road!
We also just sat at our computers using the wi-fi, my husband working and me doing face book and email. I also relaxed on the deck with my watercolors, painting the gorgeous scenery and beautiful wild iris that were blooming on the property.
Our friends came for a day with their 5 grandchildren aged 12 to 5 and the kids played at the pool/shuffleboard/ping pong table and in the downstairs playroom complete with toys.
We were there to celebrate birthday and anniversary and it was perfect.
I highly recommend it and hope we can come back another time."

"Stayed for the Fourth of July and most of the following week.
Great place with lots of living space (indoor and outdoor), updated bathrooms and a newer, functional kitchen. Enough kitchen essentials for easy cooking, and the large dining room table came in handy for large group meals. Plenty of towels, paper towels, toilet paper (all the stuff you could easily overlook).
Check-in an check-out were easy and well coordinated, and there was a nearby place to take garbage.
Overall, an easy four stars for value, cleanliness, functionality and location. Made it easy to entertain family and friends, and focus on the fun things to do around South Fork.
