"If you are searching for a Beautiful mountain cabin with soft solitude and panoramic views, this is the setting! Everything you need is provided and it is very spacious and modern. We have rented many cabins but none compares to this one because it has been made into a welcoming home by the owners. And we thank the Wermers for sharing their little piece of heaven with the world! And because of the lovely time we spent in this clean mountain air and sparkling night skies...we will be back to Colorado and this warm haven! P.S. And any thoughts of a hotel will be dismissed swiftly!"

"Our family recently stayed at "The Claim" in Fairplay, Colorado for the first time. This was our family vacation and it was wonderful, and the first time our sons had been to Colorado! The cabin was beautiful! The weather was perfect and refreshingly cool. We came from triple digit weather to wonderfully cool weather and got to spend a week in the most beautiful surroundings. We can't wait to go back. We were able to drive a short distance several times during our stay and visit surrounding attractions while all the while looking forward to returning to a beautiful cabin. We didn't see Matilda the moose that we had heard so much about but hopefully on our next visit we will get to see her. We can't wait to go back."

"We had a total of 28 kids and 10 adults for our church youth trip go to Colorado springs. The property was centrally located to different attractions and had plenty for the kids to do on our down time. Joe was very helpful in anything we needed. Will definitely be staying here again."

A Quaint Home in a Quirky Town With the Best of Friends
"If you're looking for a place to gather to enjoy friends or family, to feel cozy and welcome, to feel like you belong and are a local of a town far, far away- this is the place for you! From board games to linens to dishes to charm this house has it all! The owners also seem to be exceptionally wonderful people (and we suspect the authors of a very informative guide to Manitou)! SO COOL! We walked into town about a dozen times a day (and found ourselves gasping for air walking back up the hill...the altitude change for us was a killer until the last day, ha!), whether for a cup of coffee, a slice of pizza, a quarter game of ski ball, or for souvenirs. We ooh'd and ahh'd at the views of a snow-topped Pikes Peak tucked behind the school across the street. We marveled at the nooks and crannies of the home (we peaked at the top floor-a perfect retreat for young kids of a family!) and the adorable details in the doors and windows. We slept like babies in 3 of the cozy second-floor rooms. The house is not new and has seen a bit of love, wear, and tear over the years, but it is truly lovely and a great place to rest your head while enjoying all Manitou has to offer (Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds-all within 10 minutes...or less!). If you're like us...you may find the home is so convenient that you literally only sleep and shower there and are out exploring your scenic surroundings your entire trip! But regardless- if you book here- you're bound to fall in love and have a wonderful time! :)"
