  • Very beautiful and relaxing

"I stayed at this property with my girlfriend and two other couples. We all had a great time and wish we would have stayed one more day. This house is huge and some of the pictures does not do it justice. I had to actually hunt for my girlfriend at times because it is so big, but that is a good thing. The views at night are incredible the lights below look like some futuristic scenes from a movie. Great base for all local or nearby attractions. The hot tubs were great at night after we went snowmobiling, Hiking at Gardens of the Gods, and visiting Red rock canyon open spaces. Really I wish we would have all just stayed at the house and enjoyed it. Please spend some quality time in this home or you will regret it when the morning comes and you have to leave. I have rented before but I think with this home you definitely get more bang for your buck. Only problem which really was not crucial pay attention when Tom is going over things I have problems anyway with remotes I could not operate the huge TV in the upstairs by the bar. Bottom line this will be my new home away from my home."

  • Nice location and great yard!

"We spent the month of June in this cottage and really enjoyed the location and the large yard. We are full time travelers and have stayed in many vacation rentals. This was one of the best equipped as far as kitchen dishes, pots, pans, paper products, towels, etc. The kitchen is beautiful and a pleasure to use. Everything worked well and we had no issues while we were there. Our small dog loved the big, fenced yard and we ate many meals on the large patio. The owner was easy to communicate with and usually answered questions fairly quickly. The house has two window air conditioners located in each of the bedrooms which were quite necessary during this rather warm month. It would be helpful to have another air conditioner in the living room or the kitchen as those two rooms became very warm as the day progressed. Also, Unitah is a very busy street so it is not the quietest of locations. However the house did shut out most of the noise. Road noise was not uncommon to hear in the bedroom late at night."

  • Good Place

"We had a great time. Dog park 2 miles away. Close to everything that we needed. Great place. Home away from home. I never did get to meet Mark when we was there but he was really pleasant on the phone. Will say again when we're back in Col. Springs."

  • Perfect Family Gathering for Christmas and New Years!

"Spending the Christmas Holidays at Merrywood Manor in Colorado Springs was perfect. The place is very elegant yet very warm and comfortable. The owners had it decorated beautifully and tastefully for Christmas along with a Christmas tree, garland, outside lights, a small village, and wreaths. With sixteen people, none of us ever felt crowded with three living areas for conversation and two large dining areas. The well-equipped large kitchen was a dream with plenty of counter space and a butler's pantry. The bedrooms were all very comfortable. At first I had some reservations about the downstairs apartment envisioning it as merely a basement room, but it was lovely and comfortable. The stairwell leading to it was nicely carpeted and lighted with nice paintings - very well incorporated into the rest of the house. One did not have the feel they were in the basement. While there, we saw many deer and other wildlife in the area. Being hikers, we made several trips on foot to the Broadmoor Hotel and made a point of eating at the Golden Bee. Terry, the landlord, was always easy to reach and helped us with every request. He gave us directions to the perfect spot for our kids to sled down some snow covered hills, and was there to shovel the snow from the driveway. While in Colorado Springs, we visited Manitou Springs, Old Town Colorado, Garden of the Gods, Focus on the Family, and the zoo. After being away for the day, it was always a welcome sight to get back "home" to the warmth of Merrywood. If we ever have the opportunity to be in Colorado Springs, we would try to stay there again. Terry and Diane were both so very nice to us."
