  • A fantastic getaway destination

"I took a high school class trip to Crestone for a week and this wonderful house was our home the whole time. It was spacious, elegant, warm, and tasteful, and the tower bedroom is like something out of a fairy tale. The house was built using the sustainable straw-bale method of construction, and it was toasty on the cold November nights. Perhaps the best thing was the price — it's kind of hard to believe how cheap it was to stay here. Why stay in a motel? This is a great rental."

  • PEACE AND QUIET

"The house is very nice and well kept, and Michelle was great. My wifeand I felt comfortable there immediately. The steam shower was a great reward after a hike too!"

  • Lovely stay

"My husband and I very much enjoyed staying at this casita in Crestone. It was our first time to Crestone, and in large part due to this property, it won't be our last! The home is warm, inviting, and well-cared for. It is beautiful in its simplicity, and the decor is well matched to the home - muted tones, clean lines, and no clutter. Very tranquil. Some nice features are a well-equipped kitchen, radiant heat in the polished cement floors, and a shower with a large window looking out onto the property and the mountains beyond. There is also a beautiful wood-burning stove, stocked with plenty of wood. The property is secluded and silent. The only "neighbor" we saw were the mule deer milling about the grounds. The view of the mountain - Kit Carson, I believe! - from the living room window is magnificent. The owner was very helpful on the phone, as was the information provided in the home. The Crestone area was beautiful, with so many different things to do - hiking, visiting the Sand Dunes, stopping in the little town (limited choices of restaurants, but we enjoyed the Bliss Cafe, and just cooking at the casita!), and visiting the abundant spiritual sites dotted around the area. I'd be content just sitting on the back porch of this home, however, and doing nothing at all :)"

  • Great house and good people to rent from

"My wife and son and I spent a week in Crestone as a getaway and this was the perfect place for us. Two bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen, BBQ grill, small wood burning fireplace (though the heat works outstanding), linens, and a good location. The house is great and the views are amazing. We had "visitors" ranging from deer to elk to a bobcat while we were there. The locals are all friendly and there is a good little grocery store there. For the money, we couldn't have crammed ourselves in a HI Express for that for the week. (though there isn't one there) Steve and Mia were great to work with. They gave lots of great info, recommendations, and directions to the house and left us contact numbers in case we had any issues. We spent the week hiking, going to the sand dunes, and generally unplugging and taking easy. I highly recommend this house and Steve and Mia."
