  • Wonderful and relaxing stay

"This property was fantastic! My dad and I stayed for three nights at the Mountain Fortress while on a father-son fishing trip, and both agreed that three days was not nearly long enough! The views were breathtaking, the solitude and beautiful surroundings were incredibly peaceful, and the amenities of the Mountain Fortress made our stay extremely comfortable. After each day of fishing, we took full advantage of the hot tub and enjoyed a drink on the deck. Mike was an incredibly gracious and attentive host. We have already begun to discuss a return trip to Cripple Creek and the Mountain Fortress."

  • Having a Great Time!

"My wife and I have been staying in the chalet since earlier this week and leaving Sunday morning. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and not looking to get back to the grind. No complaints nor issues. Thank you for the great deal!"

  • Picture Perfect Family Memories

"We decided to plan a long weekend getaway in the mountains with some of our extended family this fall. We wanted to stay near Cripple Creek, because we'd taken a family trip there in the mid-90s, and thought it would be fun to revisit the town and see how things have changed. Rubey Ranch seemed like a great choice - close enough to Cripple Creek and Florissant to give us access to entertainment options, but far enough away to give us the feeling of "getting away." We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The location is quite good. Once we learned our way around the area, we discovered that it's very easy to get to several different attractions, including the casinos in Cripple Creek, the fossil beds, and Pike's Peak. You have the feeling of being quite a ways off the beaten path, but it's still pretty easy to access county-maintained roads, grocery stores, etc. The cabin has a wonderful view of Pike's Peak, and we had a great time walking around and exploring the area nearby. My 2 year old LOVED the "rock playground" (rock formations) out back. The cabin itself is picture perfect. We visited in October, which is a beautiful time of year. The main room has high, vaulted ceilings, lots of windows (you can watch the sun rise AND set from the same spot!), and a huge fireplace. There's a beautiful wrap around porch with a swing that faces Pike's Peak - nothing better than having your morning coffee and watching the sun rise over the mountains. I would LOVE to go back in the summer when it's a little warmer, because I think I'd spend all my time on the porch. The master bedroom is very large and comfy. The second bedroom is a bit smaller than we expected, but still very comfortable for two adults. The cabin has a landline, satellite TV and Wi-Fi, so we didn't even have to go without our modern comforts! We made a grocery run on our way to the cabin, and found the kitchen to be well-stocked with all the basics we needed for cooking. Sid and Denise were amazingly helpful hosts. We had some trouble with the hot water heater when we first arrived (it is a tankless hot water heater, and the pilot had gone out), but were able to get it up and running with a little coaching over the phone. They keep a book with lots of information on activities and entertainment nearby, which was very helpful. They also provided wonderful directions and suggestions via email. We had a wonderful time at Rubey Ranch, and I would certainly go back."

  • Magnificent In Every Way!

"Thank you, Mike, for a magnificent stay in your beautiful cabin! It was everything I expected and more. The views are spectacular, especially from the wonderful hot tub on the deck. And the cabin is warm and inviting. The location is perfect -- peaceful and quiet -- but not far from many fun things to do. I especially appreciate how helpful you were, Mike, with all of my questions and need for information. If you want an awesome getaway with some of the very best mountain views and a tremendously inviting host, then this is the place for you! I hope to be back again in the fall, and I will definitely stay at the Mountain Dream Cabin! Thanks again for everything, Mike!"
