"My sister and I stayed here in June. It is comfortable, clean and has amazing views. It is close to town, yet feels like total wilderness. The deck was relaxing and wonderful. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! We enjoyed the property and the surrounding area and thank the owners for sharing. That being said, there are a few things to know before staying here (and hopefully the owner will take note).
First, if you have trouble climbing steep steps be aware that there are a lot of wooden steps you must climb while carrying your stuff inside. The handrails are also rough and we both picked several splinters out of our hands, so be careful.
I'm not a huge TV fan, but I do like seeing the news. I assumed (my error) that "TV" meant you could actually get channels. Nope! No cable or satellite; only the DVD movies supplied.
No ice maker. We arrived at night with warm drinks and no ice. We went into town the next morning and bought ice for our drinks.
Gas grill covered with pieces of wire from the cleaning brush. We covered with aluminum foil before cooking to avoid bits of wire stuck to our food. This brush should be thrown away. It's old, coming apart and is a potential health hazard if someone ingests pieces of wire.
Bathroom window has no covering so you're showering directly in front of it. Not a problem for me; I was with my sister, and area behind the cabin is wooded. Could be a problem if you're there with others who go outside and roam around. My sister refused to shower at night in front of the dark window. Some kind of window covering would be great.
Good supply of linens except for kitchen washcloths. Never found any (maybe we just missed them) so we bought some at the Dollar General in town.
Also bought a night light at Dollar General. The front bedroom is very dark, especially if you sleep with your door closed, so it's hard to see if getting up at night.
Morning visits from woodpeckers on the wall outside front bedroom - woke me up too early most mornings. Probably no way to stop this, but it was annoying.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet escape. Just be prepared to bring certain items with you. But do go enjoy the deck and the views! You won't be disappointed."

WOW! This is a beautiful place that puts you close to all the great things Colorado has to offer!
"To say we were pleased with the cabin would be a huge understatement. This was a trip of a lifetime and we will be coming back very soon!
The cabin itself is very comfy and accommodating. It was perfect for just my wife and I but it would also be just as perfect if we had brought our two kids (12 and 7) and large dog with us. The cabin has everything you need to cook (bring your own consumables), play games (board games galore and crochet), watch classic movies or simply sitting on the porch and healing the mind body and soul.
The property is well shaded with a small yard in the front to hang out and prepare for your adventure packed days. It is attached to the main house so this may not be the place for a bunch of rowdy teens to have their party fueled getaway but it is a perfect place for a family, couple, writer, painter, day dreamer or adventure seeker.
The location made it perfect for us to do and see so much in our 5 days. I won't bore you with all majestic details of our trip but it is worth pointing out that we were able to see the Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge by Train, Pikes Peak by Car, Cave of the Winds, Cripple Creek for some gambling and a tour of the mine, Maintou Springs for a hot spring spa treatment and St Mary's Glacier. These were all done by making day trips. We were able to wake up, have breakfast, pack some lunch, go do our touristy stuff and be back to make dinner and hang out for the evening. Even the longer drives seem to go so quick with all the wildlife and beauty so don't be afraid to plan that day trip to the National Sand Dunes (we didn't and that is the one thing we regret not doing).
A couple recommendations: Make sure to leave your windows open if you are going during the warmer months. The mountain air is refreshing and healing. Also, leave your bottle water in the car. The well water is delicious.
Thank you Lenni and Don for an amazing time (and for the flowers and card as well)!"

"My family and I stayed here last week and had a great time. My wife and oldest daughter enjoyed the hot tub and I spent as much time as possible on the deck taking in the views and the QUIET. The cabin was very clean and we could not have asked for more. We saw mule deer, wild turkeys and a coyote while there!"

"This place is everything it says and more. The pictures do not do this place justice. The views alone are worth the trip. We arrived right after Christmas and everything was snow covered. The house was stocked with everything we needed from toilet paper to linens. The temperature dropped to -9 degrees and the house remained cozy. Internet worked great and the game room was a wonderful plus. The roads were well maintained even when it snowed 6 inches one day. Can't say enough about this property. Would love to come back in the spring."
