  • Our family's favorite gathering

"This was our annual family gathering and was voted the best yet. The house is totally as described and pictured and although we rely heavily on paper plates, there were double the needed dishes and silverware as well as everything needed for cooking from cookie sheets to a crock pot. Each family unit felt it had privacy and the children (young and older) loved the basement and options for sleeping. Alex was very responsive when we had questions and it was nice to see family photos. The views and wildflowers were magnificent and driving up to the end of the road and walking out into the meadow covered in wildflowers was so pleasant. South Park City in Fairplay was a fun history lesson for all. We enjoyed side trips to Leadville and Breckenridge and zip lining and white water rafting. It was great!!!"

  • J&T

"For selfish reasons, we're not going to tell you how great Randy's place is, how well-maintained, private, and well-equipped. Nope, not a word about the great location, the dog run, the surround sound system, the hot tub, the instruction booklet for anything and everything you need to know. And we're certainly not going to mention what a nice guy he is. Mum's the word."

  • We had a wonderful family getaway!

"We arrived for our family get away and were very pleased with this beautiful mountain home on the inside and outside! The home is just as shown in the photos, very well stocked, CLEAN and the beds were comfy. Great location and gorgeous views of the mountains. The kids really enjoyed exploring outside around the house too. My husband and I enjoyed having a glass of wine each evening out on the deck listening to the sounds of the forest and watching for wildlife. Close distance to Breckenridge, which we enjoyed going to the fun park on Peak 8. Jeff, the owner, was very easy to get ahold of, helpful and friendly. When we travel back to Colorado we would definitely love to stay here again!"

  • Great cabin, great location

"This cabin is conveniently located if your plans are to do day trips around the central CO area. It is comfortable, clean, and easily the best stocked VRBO we have rented. The fireplace was definitely a nice feature in late October, it didn't take long to heat up the whole place when we returned every evening. The kitchen was stocked with all the little extras - spices etc, which can cost a lot of money and is not easy to tote while flying so that was much appreciated. They even provided a fresh can of coffee. Sounds like a small thing but arriving late and getting settled in, it was just something we didn't have to figure out! The kitchen also had a wonderful assortment of dishes and cookware. All in good shape and clean! The table is large and a great place for family games in the evening. There is a ping pong table and an air hockey game in the basement, too. The deck is large and in good shape. We enjoyed wrapping up in blankets and sitting out there after dark to count the stars. The daytime view was nice as well, and we enjoyed our coffee out there in the mornings. We visited Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs and Garden of the Gods one day, Breckenridge, Frisco & Dillon one day, and Buena Vista the last day. THAT place is very close and spectacular. Next trip - more time there. We soaked in the outside hot springs watching the snow. It was too late in the year for white water rafting and biking so we did some sight seeing and came back to visit Mt Sherman and other mountains. The old town of Fairplay was also already closed down for the season but some of the shops were still open. There is a large assortment of brochures and area - relevant reading material, which we found to be very useful. There is a nice grocery store in town conveniently about 2 miles away which was well stocked and competitive with prices. If you plan to travel to Mt Sherman and other nearby ranges I recommend an AWD or 4 wheel drive SUV or truck - the roads are not all paved. They are definitely passable but not maintained this time of year. We enjoyed driving the roads near the cabin and saw much wildlife and beautiful scenery. We saw a bobcat, elk, deer, and 2 moose all within a mile or 2. Making arrangements was also easy. The owner was prompt in responding and great to work with. All instructions and communication was handled via email. Everything was just as he said it would be so it was a super easy rental agreement. Thanks for sharing your cabin with my family."
