  • Everything we hoped for!

"We stayed at the cabin over spring break and we absolutely loved it! Beautiful views off the back deck and such a beautiful setting. Each evening we were visited by moose coming out of the aspen grove. Perfectly located for skiing and for taking scenic drives. When we arrived the cabin was clean and welcoming after a long drive. We had hoped for a nice mountain cottage and what we got was so much more! Betsy was so helpful throughout everything! She answered any questions I had promptly and thoroughly! We will definitely be back!"

  • Very nice quiet, comfortable and private log cabin.

"Short walk to great fishing on the middle fork of the South Platte. Easy half hour or less drive to Breckenridge or Buena Vista. Easy access which does not require four wheel drive during summer months. Very well appointed and updated kitchen as well as a very nice new gas grill outside. Would highly recommend and Vicki is a real pleasure to deal with."

  • We had a wonderful family getaway!

"We arrived for our family get away and were very pleased with this beautiful mountain home on the inside and outside! The home is just as shown in the photos, very well stocked, CLEAN and the beds were comfy. Great location and gorgeous views of the mountains. The kids really enjoyed exploring outside around the house too. My husband and I enjoyed having a glass of wine each evening out on the deck listening to the sounds of the forest and watching for wildlife. Close distance to Breckenridge, which we enjoyed going to the fun park on Peak 8. Jeff, the owner, was very easy to get ahold of, helpful and friendly. When we travel back to Colorado we would definitely love to stay here again!"

  • A beautiful home in a natural setting

"The Alpenhaus is quite comfortable, decorated in a wilderness, cabin style. Quite nice. We appreciated that the home was dog-friendly. Beds, the two queens and three twins, are very comfortable. All other beds are fold-outs. The kitchen could use a few more utensils and dishware. The site advertises sleeping for 14 but there are only 8 plates in the kitchen. This only encourages use of paper plates, not very environmentally friendly. If you are washing your dishes in the dishwasher, bring extra dishwasher detergent. Also, no recycling was available, again, not very green. We discovered recycling was available in Fairplay. One should be aware, especially when visiting in the summer, the drive in is on a long dirt road, very slow, very dusty. Cell phone reception is spotty. No Internet."
