  • Great cabin for a family reunion

"Fantastic find!!! We (4 families) all loved the cabin. Location is great and the cabin was very clean and well stocked with anything we needed for daily use. There was private sleeping space for each family. We also brought a blow-up mattress for the unfinished room downstairs which was also a usable space. Adults could enjoy talking space on the deck or family room after the kids went to bed. The kitchen was spotless and so well stocked from spices to oils. Amazing! The location is great and we took advantage of Breckenridge's water park, Mt. Sherman 14,000ft. climb, Linder Tree hike, rafting on the Arkansas, horse back riding ( Platte Ranch Double B Riding Stables), South Park City and kids ice cream cones on the old main in Fairplay. The kids (12-1) loved hanging out and playing cards and creating things from the well stocked craft drawer. The barbecue grill was supplied with charcoal ready for our cookout. The owner is great to work with and communicates promptly. Our dream is to return someday."

  • Cozy mountain getaway.

"My wife and I had the pleasure of sharing "the Claim" with two other couples for an extended weekend ski trip. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accomodations. Nothing beats a hot steam shower or hot tub soak whether you have spent the day exploring/skiing the mountain, or just relaxing all day. Not to mention the hut tub overlooks a lovely creek where wildlife frequents, we were lucky enough to see the baby moose during our stay."

  • Best Ever Cabin

"This cabin was absolutely beautiful. In the past; coming to Colorado; we had stayed @ (& I truly mean-roughing it type of cabins-meaning bare minimum kitchens & bathroom's.) This cabin was more than comfortable. All the amenities needed. Usually when we go to a cabin in Colorado; we have to take EVERYTHING with us - i.e. - crock pots; electric griddle; towels; sheets etc., (I did read from a previous review to take your own spices. That was a very helpful tip as it turned out.) We had a hard time logging onto the WiFi/internet. But, in the long run was nice that it was so difficult - kept everyone "unplugged!" Including us (mom & dad!) By the time getting towards the end of the week it was nice that everyone was getting away from the deprivation of being "connected." The owners were ssooo good to work with. Answered every single question we had in a timely manner. The area was pristine. We even got a visit from the infamous "Charlie-moose!" a couple of times. The beds were extraordinarily comfortable! We were pleasantly surprised to find the basement actually could sleep 5 instead of what the picture showed as just 3. This kept the "teenagers-young adults" in 1 location-to feel free in staying up late & not keeping us "old people" awake! When it rained (actually iced a couple of times-IN JULY!) it was nice to be able to relax in such a pleasant cabin. It was warm & comfortable in so many ways. Where-as-when our usual cabin stay in Colorado were very roughing it; made our stay so much more enjoyable. LOVED loved listening to the stream from the cabin being so close. The teenager's hiked up the mountain nearby-(including my husband age 52 thinking he was a teenager also!) Fairplay was a nice quaint little town. We drove to Breckenridge-about an hour away. What a sweet little town. We enjoyed a horse back ride that was within 15 minutes from the cabin. We would DEFINITELY stay again if we ever came back to Colorado again. Thank you!"

  • Escaping Ohio.....if only for a couple of weeks

"This cabin was outstanding! I have used VRBO for many trips and this cabin was the best experience thus far. Everything was as advertised and the property manager was courteous and very easy to deal with. The images do not do justice to how beautiful the location is! In addition, it's centrally located to 14ers, rafting, horseback riding, and great fishing. If you'd rather just relax and read a book, the front porch of this cabin is hard to beat."
