  • Excellent rental home, would rent again in a heartbeat!

"14 of us ended up traveling in a 15 passenger van to Colorado Springs. This house was perfect! Only 2 little boys slept on the floor only because they wanted to be close to mom. They could have slept on a sofa. The layout of the house was perfect. The price was perfect too! My only Con is that I felt the bed sheets were not fresh but a couple of minutes to change them was all it took and I really can't complain. We were very comfortable in the home. Things I didn't know beforehand that are good to know..... I was a bit confused about how many beds and didn't find the sleeper sofa until the next day because I was looking for a futon. :) Here is what we found: 1 King Master Bedroom, 1 Queen Bedroom 2, 1 Queen Bedroom 3, 1 Full Bedroom 4, 1 Single open area/room, 1 Full Sleeper Sofa Living Area. Nearby (probably a mile away) a grocery store, a Walmart, a Chase bank, a McDonald's. Even though the house feels like you are out in a wooded area, the highway is not far at all which I loved. If there is no snow in Colorado Springs and you want to see snow, Breckenridge is only 2.5 hrs away and there is lots of snow there and beautiful!! From this location (the house) it is faster to go up through Denver Colorado as apposed to through Manitou like was suggested to me. Although going through manitou (i believe hwy 24) was much prettier road trip (lots of snowy mountains and on the sides of the highway, also there are farms with animals to see - a type of deer and buffalo) than on the way back when we went through Denver Colorado. Plus even though it's closer through Denver we got a lot of traffic, not sure if it was the day/time, but we ended up making 3 hours anyway. FYI. If you do not like steep hills to drive on I would avoid the Cave of the Winds. Once you start going up there is no stopping until you are at the very top and feel sick to your stomach at the thought of what the trip down will be like. Well, I was in a 15 passenger van and it was getting ready to rain so I was nearly having a panic attack. It actually turned out to be just fine (going about 10 mi./hr). But just FYI if you don't like driving up/down steep hills. Everything in Colorado Springs is within 15-30 min distance from the rental house. No one was complaining. This house accommodated all 14 of us perfectly. Everyone loved the wooded area where it was located. Some of us saw big deer in the backyard with big antlers!! I would highly recommend it!!"

  • We can't say enough good things about our stay...

"This was our first experience with VRBO and it could not have been better. This condo was exactly what we were looking for during our visit to Salida. The location was perfect - just a short jaunt to downtown where there are many great dining options (Moonlight Pizza, Benson's Beer Garden, Little Cambodia) and the balcony river view was so beautiful and peaceful. Also, this condo has all of the amenities you could need during your stay and is very comfortable. Thank you to the owner, Maureen, for welcoming us and being great to work with. Our trip to Salida was wonderful due to the amazing hiking around the area and then having this great condo to come home to and relax. I would recommend these accommodations to all my friends and family. Thanks again!"

  • A Zen Oasis!

"My husband and I stayed here after going on a retreat to relax and more fully unwind. It was perfect! The house is stunning and has a very peaceful and magical energy. The views are amazing, which are contrasted by the shaded backyard with a creek running through it. My favorite part was waking up in the morning to sounds of the creek, with sun shining in and inspiring views of the mountains. It is also very convenient to town, hikes, and pretty much everything!"

  • Fall Getaway

"If you are looking for a private, beautiful Colorado mountain experience, don't look any further. The cabin is well laid out with plenty of room but the location is the best part. With the stream in the background you can always hear the running water as you take in an amazing view of the mountains. The view from the hot tub is fantastic. Because you are off the beaten path, star gazing is just incredible. We actually slept on the deck so we could fall asleep under the start. We will definitely be back!!"
