"First off, Mark (the owner) was truly delightful. I was in Leadville for the Leadville 100 MTB race, and leading into the race, I had to adjust the dates and add a couple people, and Mark was very accommodating when he was able to do so. This home is incredibly convenient to downtown Leadville, being just a few steps from main street. If you're looking to stay in Leadville, you're most likely looking for adventure, weather it be hiking, biking, skiing, whatever, you're most likely there to do these things fairly aggressively. We rode our bikes several hours a day, and of course about 11 hours for the race, and it was SO nice to be staying right down town. It was just awesome to be able to walk just a few blocks to the various restaurants and bars, and then back when we were done. The location is fantastic!
We had 8 people staying in the house, and the first thing that I noticed was how spacious this home turned out to be. I was not expecting that, but that's how it turned out. The main living room is very spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms worked out perfectly. We were able to spread out nicely, which the lighter sleepers appreciated. There were tons of blankets, pillows, towels, etc.
We had several meals at the house and the kitchen had everything we needed.
I must say the one drawback to this home is it has only one shower. There is a bathroom upstairs, but no shower there. But in the end, with 8 stinky people each day, we worked it out just fine.
As you may read in other reviews, this home is not the lap of luxury, but nothing in Leadville is the lap of luxury. If you're going to Leadville, you're not going for a spa vacation, you're going to be a badass in the mountains at altitude. This home fits Leadville perfectly. And most importantly, everything in this home works! We had NO surprises, and NO reasons to call Mark with any issues at all.
I will be going back to Leadville, and I will rent this home again.
