  • BEST vacation rental EVER!!

"We rented this condo with another couple. There was so much privacy for both couples, which was wonderful. King suites fit for queens!! The condo was immaculate upon arrival and absolutely beautiful! Maureen was a "gem"! So personable and willing to help. I can't imagine going back to this area and NOT staying here!! Great price for the money, beautiful scenery and the condo had everything we needed. Add in the fact the Arkansas River is literally running next to the deck and you couldn't ask for more. Thank you Dave and Maureen for making our vacation so memorable! Don't make a mistake and stay anywhere else, this is the vacation spot for everyone!!"

  • This is the one you want!

"It's clear that lot of attention has gone into making this home a perfect vacation getaway. The house was immaculate. The views from the porch swing in the front, the views from the deck and hot tub in the back, and the views from every window throughout the house never let you forget that you're in the majestic Rockies. The property is very private. And even though it feels (quite blissfully) like you're totally disconnected from all of civilization, the drive out to local markets and restaurants is a just matter of minutes. Downtown Salida is unique and charming. It's very much like an art community of a larger city that found a way to escape and thrive on its own. Along the edge of the shops and eateries is a riverside park. It's beautiful and has a nice playground. Our favorite day was driving up to the ghost town of St. Elmo. The drive was spectacular. We passed many other landmarks along the way. We also meant to visit the local brewery (Elevation) but got distracted with our home base. I mean, we had a hike right out the back door, a private hot tub nestled among the most amazing views of the mountains, a romantic two-person shower, a closet full of games, music, and movies, a huge flatscreen television, wi-fi, a nice book collection, a pool table (alongside a large window with yet another gorgeous view), a popcorn maker, a large kitchen stocked with all the necessities, and delivery from local restaurants just a phone call away. Why leave? It was in fact was very hard to leave. Our four year old actually cried when we left. He said he was going to miss "our Colorado home and Spike." Our kids all made friends with the friendly cat (Spike) who lives on the property (his set-up is in the garage, he only comes in if you want him to), and they all fell in love with him. They cannot wait to visit Spike and our Colorado home again. My husband and I are already talking about returning to see what it's like in the summer. This place is magical! And the owners are super nice. They are attentive yet hands-off. Check-in was as simple as opening a lockbox. There was a detailed guide in the house and cabinets were even labeled. Really, I can't say enough great things about this place. We loved everything about it!"

  • A Charming Guest House!!!

"A real treasure, this historic row house is just a couple blocks from downtown Salida. Very clean and comfortable, with ample room to relax after a day of skiing. The simple furnishings and luscious artwork make the rooms very appealing. The kitchen is well supplied, including cooking spices and herbs. One of the best guest houses anywhere, at such an affordable price!"

  • Lovely!

"We loved the well stocked cabin with the stream running peacefully outside and getting to sit in the hot tub! We even saw a bear:) The owner was very attentive and helpful, and the cabin had everything you could need. My girls loved to explore around the stream, and we went rafting and horseback riding nearby. Mom loved the Mt Princeton hot springs! We look forward to going back!"
