"We have stayed here several times. It has the basic things for a weekend of skiing. A fireplace, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. The owners are very nice. Internet access is available and the kitchen works for basic meals."

  • Nice family rental with awesome views of the mountains

"This is a very good rental for a family and/or a larger group of people. There were 6 of us during our stay (me, wife, 3 kids and mother-in-law) and it was plenty big. In fact, we could have had a lot more people stay with us. There are three bedrooms, 2 full baths and one half bath. In addition to the three bedrooms, there is a walkout basement and a loft that both have pull out sofa beds. The master bedroom had a queen sized bed; another bedroom had a full (or queen sized bed) and that last bedroom had two twin beds. There is both a hot tub and a sauna at the home. We used both. The views of the mountains from the hottub were amazing. The home is also fully stocked with lots of towels, sheets, pots & pans, silverware, a coffee pot, games, a DVD player, DirecTV satellite, and one of the most important things for us - WIFI. There are two different gas grills to use. The walkout basement is pretty much like a 4th bedroom (my teenage daughter "called it" as soon as we walked in the home). There are also built-in heaters in at least two of the bathrooms. We didn't need those . . . but I can see that being a nice option if someone stayed in the home during colder times of the year. There is a nice bar area in which to sit and there is a big table with seating for 10-12. I only have a couple of "knocks" on the property. First, the floors weren't swept or mopped when we got there. Part of this may have been attributed to us getting there an hour or so early. But it seemed like the maid was leaving when we got there. Not sure. To be fair, though, the property manager did let us in the home before the "check in" time in the contract. and the sheets & pillows are a little dated. The other thing: the sheets & pillows are a little dated. Again, neither of these was a big deal for us. We would stay there again. We also felt that the rental cost was reasonable compared to similar rentals and that it was a good value for the money spent."

  • Dome Home

"The place was beautiful! Pat and Norm did a wonderful job especially with the decor and added touches. There was 5 of us staying in the house and we were comfortable. They had plenty of throw blankets and towels. The bathrooms (shower and full size claw tub) were delicious and fully equipped with 1st aid, plenty of toilet paper, facial tissue (very dry air) and hair dryers. Kitchen was small but manageable a few things to note: No dishwasher Blender is hidden above the refrigerator cabinet (if this can moved to the bar area it would be helpful) A cutting board is desperately needed plastic or wood. There was a glass cheese board and we used that as the cutting board. More kitchen towels. A few more sharp knives They had plenty of condiments for you to use, zip bags and napkins. Very helpful. The handling of the garbage is a little strange. You need a key to dump the garbage not an issue during your stay but on the last day when you need to dump it you have to return the key to house. The issues is that the garbage area is 10-15mintues one way from the house! Heading towards the exit. You need to back track to leave the key so it takes away about 30min from your 10am departure time. All in all we had a lovely stay and Pat and Norm worked with us to make our trip special. Forgot to mention they also give you a complementary bottle of wine. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. The house is about 30-45min away from Canon City (grocery stores and restaurants). Highly recommended Bar Double R Frontier Adventures about 20min from the house. You can find them on Facebook under their name. They specialize in hunting trips and horseback riding with food and games. Lots of fun!"

  • Texas Family on Vacation in CO.

"A great place, within driving distance of everything that we wanted to do, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, ziplining, bike trails, hot springs and town for shopping. The pool table and ping-pong table were added bonuses. They also had a selection of board games, and outside games. We could not get the TV to work...but could have just been us...and we did not need TV anyway, the DVD player did work and they had some movies if you were interested. There are steps, but my Dad is 82 and he managed them. The patio was wonderful. The white carpet was scary but we were able to spend a week there and not mess it up! We would rent this one again."
