  • Breathtaking Views

"My family and I just returned from this beautiful location. We had the opportunity to stay during the 4th of July Holiday. We slept comfortable and teenagers and the toddler had plenty of room and activities to keep them occupied. The parade and fireworks display in nearby Leadville, CO was the best time of our lives and we will be talking about it forever. If you enjoy golfing, the nearby 9 hole course had awesome views. I recommend this location for all. Thank you for a wonderful holiday with my family."

  • Is This For Real?

"This cabin is by far, second to none! We've stayed in lots of cabins but this one exceeded all of our expectations. The spectacular views, the friendly but shy hummingbirds, the cleanliness of the cabin, the comfortable beds, linens, fluffy towels, (I could go on and on and on) was enjoyed by everyone. The trails, the drive over Independence Pass, and the Leadville Train are a few of our activities. A very quiet and needed retreat. Thank you, John & Cindy for making our stay so memorable!!!"

  • Anne and David's cabin

"Everything and More! My only problem: the cabin itself is so beautiful and inspiring that it may encourage people to stay inside, change the locks, and spend the rest of their lives playing board games. There's a beautiful world outside. Mt. Elbert, the Collegiates, Princeton Springs, Independence Pass, the incredible scenery from the end of the drive. Twin lakes stunning, but we didn't spend a lot of time by the lake. Easy access, but secluded -- although it looks like others have discovered the place; signs of cabins popping up around there. Also, found this online, and had a chance to see other choices in real life. Watch out for creative photography and tantalizing lakeside descriptions that some others are touting -- that could land you in a trailer park or a run down motel-style collection of huts. This is pricier, but we're glad we shelled out the extra bucks. Excellent for family adventures, and for groups with varying interests and inclinations. Cabin fever won't be a problem. Check out the sunset on the Arkansas River basin a halfmile down the road!"

  • Perfect quiet getaway for small groups of friends or a family.

"We stayed here for a good friend's 30th birthday and it was just the ticket. The location and view are spectacular and the cabin was clean and well stocked. Being late October, we really enjoyed the warmth of the wood stove and the hot tub. While adults stayed in the hidden loft on this trip, it would be perfect for children as well. It was nice to stay in a place where everything worked and all of the basic amenities were covered. Highly recommended."

Twin Lakes Travel Tips

Twin Lakes Cabins Offer a True Getaway

The first thing that people who stay in Twin Lakes cabins comment on is the view. Adjectives like spectacular, awesome and majestic are used in reviews of the properties in south central Colorado. La Plata Peak and Mount Elbert are the backdrop for the landscape with the Twin Lakes in the foreground. At night, the sky is so full of stars you will think you are in the heavens, and at 9,800 feet you almost are.

Even though Twin Lakes lodging is easily accessible from bigger towns like Aspen and Vail, you will feel like you are millions of miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is a spot that has been preserved to look just as it did thousands of years ago. Since there are no lights from the city, the stars twinkle like nowhere else you have ever been and they seem so close you can reach up and touch them.

Plenty to Do in Twin Lakes

Don't let the rural setting fool you, however, into thinking there is little to do when you stay at Twin Lakes cabins. There is every type of outdoor activity you can imagine in this beautiful setting; trails for hiking and biking along with lush golf courses. In the winter, the slopes of Vail Valley and Copper Mountain are within driving distance of Twin Lakes lodging so you can enjoy a day of Alpine skiing or tubing.

Tourist Resort Areas are Close

South Central Colorado vacation rentals also put you close to the popular tourist areas of Vail and Aspen. The bigger cities are only about 50 miles away and after you spend the afternoon shopping and sight-seeing there, you can return to the tranquility of your private vacation home to gaze at the millions of stars.
