  • Delightful!

"This cabin was a perfect exclamation point to my 30 day sabbatical from the financial world. Being well stocked it prevented us from having to make any trips for those little things you always forget. We arrived in 6-8 inches of snow and below zero temps but the roads were plowed and the woodstove was warm, cozy and inviting within minutes. Daily sunset spectacle of elk across the valley viewable with telescopes set up in the living room was phenomenal! Ice fished Twin Lakes with the daughters and grandsons and went snow tubing in Leadville. All agreed it was a Great Location and a wonderful cabin and all ages enjoyed tremendously! Owner was extremely helpful and easy to work with. Highly recommend!"

  • Beyond already-high expectations

"Having seen the photos, we were ready to be impressed, and were not disappointed. Already lots of discussion here about this view, but it truly does have to be experienced to get the full effect. We were fortunate enough to be there in early September with near perfect weather, and were treated to a morning view of magnificent snow-capped peaks for a full 180 degrees (the house is perfectly situated to get the max impact of the view through the giant rear window wall, as well as the deck). Years ago we spent some time in the Swiss Alps, and it's not an exaggeration to say this section of the Rockies stands up pretty well in the comparison. Go and enjoy, you'll be glad you did."

  • Spacious Lodge Home with Incredible Views

"To begin with, we were amazed at the size and comfort of the home, with its log cabin construction, all the modern conveniences, large kitchen and living area, game room on lower level, plenty of sleeping room with baths for a large family or group, and wide wrap-around decks with large grill. The view of Mt. Elbert is breathtaking. Down the road in one direction is a reservoir (with excellent fishing) and the other way you wind down to the picturesque Twin Lakes, which is great for fishing, hiking, kayaking, etc. Don't miss the lakeside hiking trail to the reconstructed turn-of-the-century hotel and resort. Take water with you on your activities as your activities will be at an elevation of 9000' or more. The nearest towns, Leadville and Buena Vista (known for whitewater rafting) are great for excursions and have lots of interesting shops and restaurants. Following the road past Twin Lakes, you can cross the Continental Divide at Independence Pass as you motor down to Aspen. But most of all, you can just stay at the lodge and enjoy the hiking opportunities or hang out on the deck and appreciate the views. This is a true value!"

  • Fall Getaway

"The cabin was much larger than it looked in the photos (as was the beautiful deck) and the view is absolutely stunning, especially with the brilliant aspen. I'm a hiker and I hiked to my heart's content. I wished I'd brought my bike because there are plenty of places to ride, too. My friends enjoyed sitting under the umbrella and enjoying the view while they caught up. We decided to cook dinner one night and the cabin has everything you need and more for cooking - made me want to go home and buy some new cookware! I usually bring wineglasses and big coffee mugs and would recommend that if there are more than two people. There's plenty of sleeping room and having two bathrooms was great. You can drive to the Colorado Trail in just a few minutes and hike Mt Elbert if you're up for it. The owner is very nice too. Definitely a place to visit again!"
