  • Excellent Vacation!

"My husband, children (ages 9 and 10), and I recently vacationed at this wonderful treasure of a cabin. Perfectly located, this cabin has STUNNING views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range from any room. The moment you walk in, it is impossible not to feel the relaxation seeping in. The cabin itself is very comfortable, with its over-sized couch, enormous rock fireplace, abundance of beds, well-equiped kitchen, and bathrooms. The owners have stocked the cabin with everything you think you might need and then some, including things like pancake mix, coffee and hot chocolate, plush towels, soft linens, and even bear spray! Yes, you are surrounded by wildlife. Looking out the windows at any time of day practically you can see deer and antelope, prairie dogs, and a variety of large birds soaring overhead. We did see one bear while driving a short distance from the cabin lumbering along the side of the road. Short drives in any direction yield activities as endless as your imagination. Being there only for a few days, we chose to go to Mission Wolf, where we not only learned about wolves we got to meet some in person! We also did some hiking, went into the quaint town of Westcliffe and shopped the galleries and stores, and even bowled at the nicest bowling alley we had ever seen! The restaurant within has excellent food and incredible views. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a restaurant called Sangritas. The beautiful thing about this trip was that we could be a busy as we wanted, or just relax and hang out at the cabin, playing games, making s'mores, grilling burgers, and watching the kids ride the bikes and scooters already at the cabin. At night, we made good use of the telescope to stargaze, even spotting the ring around Saturn. The owners do supply a ton of information about all the different things you can do while there, and if you still want more the locals seemed to be very helpful in offering up all the events you can go to just in Westcliffe (far more events than you would think for such a small town)! I would highly recommend staying at this cabin to anyone and plan to definitely stay there again!"

  • Family Reunion

"The scenery was great. I could sit on the doorstep of each cabin and look to the Sangre de Cristo's or to the Wet Mountains and feel like I had died and gone to heaven. It was great that we could walk up and connect to the Rainbow Trail from the ranch!!! Dean and Jodi were great hosts, very helpful. The cabins were very comfortable. Some of the members of my family felt that the setting was a little "rustic" for them, but I thought it was fun to experience a ranch in the high country. I WILL GO BACK AGAIN."

  • Westcliffe Vacation

"My husband and I really enjoyed staying at the cabin. It gave us a sense of how it will be when we move up to Westcliffe. Everyone in the community is very friendly and we have a lot in common. We didn’t see a bear but there were herds of deer with lots of babies. They were quite cute and curious. Two fawns actually came up to the back window of the cabin and looked in."

Westcliffe Travel Tips

Get Away to a Rural Setting With Westcliffe Vacation Rentals

Hidden away in the southern part of Colorado, you'll find the rural community of Westcliffe. Vacation rentals in the area provide you with access to a number of recreational activities, including fishing, horseback riding, bird watching, camping, technical climbing, hiking, and gardening. From Westcliffe, Denver is three hours away, Canyon City is a 45-minute drive, and Colorado Springs is an hour and half away.

Westcliffe Lodging Gives You Sweeping Vistas

No matter which direction your Westcliffe vacation rental faces, you'll have a great view—four mountain ranges surround the town. To the west, the Sangre de Cristo mountain range rises to heights of 14,000 feet. If your vacation rental in Custer County faces east, you'll be looking at the Wet Mountains. The Collegiate Mountains sit to the north with the Spanish Peaks to the south.

South Central Colorado Cabins Offer Extra Amenities

Westcliffe vacation rentals have the luxuries of home in a vacation setting. Whether cooking is your hobby or you're looking to cut costs, enjoy the on-sight kitchen in your rental. Many cabins for rent in Colorado offer multiple bedrooms, allowing you to spread out. Having more than one room also comes in handy when you're with friends or family. Step outside your door and head off to one of the area's hiking trails or take in the sunset from your porch.

Enjoy Regional Events From Your Westcliffe Vacation Rental

Westcliffe hosts events throughout the year. From the High Mountain Hay Fever Blue Grass Festival to the Wet Mountain Western Days, you can find music festivals featuring local fiddlers and musicians. Step out your door and get in your car for scenic drives through the surrounding mountains. If you're there in June, you might catch the annual Silver Cliff Mining/Heritage Days, honoring the rich history of the region.
