"This is a cute, historic rental and was priced well compared to many others we looked at. The hot tub and garden/patio areas were great, and the breakfast food Jackie left for us was more than enough (we had breakfast for several days actually). The garden is so charming, and it was relaxing to sit and read on the shaded front porch, also. There are some things that come along with an older home (creaky floors, old plaster on the bathroom ceiling looked like it could crumble anytime), but these were very minor things that are just part of being in an older home. The kitchen has a nice set of dishes, shower had a nice waterfall style showerhead, and as I mentioned, the breakfast was very generous. We would stay there again if we went back to Colorado Springs."

"We had a Family reunion/ Surprise 80th Birthday party here this past weekend! The house is beautiful! It was the perfect location! We had family/friends come in from all over United States and even Ireland! So much to see and do in area OR just spend a quiet evening! Perfect! Hope to do it again next year!"

"Our family of five had an excellent 3 night stay at the Hummingbird. We visited the Fossil Beds, did some geocaching, hiked The Crags trail and toured the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center all of which was within 20 minutes of this home. The hot tub was a perfect place to relax at the end of a long day and we enjoyed all of the amenities of home, maybe more than at home, while hanging out on the property. A deer greeted us in the driveway and we saw at least three others, at one time, during our stay. There were beautiful sunsets and views of the stars that you can't see from the city. We all highly recommend this rental."

"You will be happy you chose to stay here. I was. The location is excellent;the appointments are outstanding and the owners are the best.
The house is located on 8th Street; it's a true neighborhood. People walk dogs, wave hello and take care of their property. You get bonuses too. Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive sit on the skyline to remind you why you came to the Rockies. You can walk to town, or ride your bike up to Harrison St.
The Mineral Belt Trail is close by. What's your pleasure? You can bike, ride a longboard, walk, push a stoller, or in-line skate. You can ski, snowshoe and winter bike, too.
The owners thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. I'm way partial to the the upstairs shower. It's the definition of a shower--tons of hot water, big shower head and just right stony floor for you feet.
There's a steamer for your veggies, plenty of refrigerator space, big windows for streaming sunlight, comfortable couches and chairs, plenty of linens and--I could go on--but you get the picture. Everything you need is there!
The owners are good landlords. It's clear they love the house on 8th. They have posted well thought out steps to make your comings and goings as smooth as possible. They respond to communications in a timely fashion. The lease is clear and it too is well thought out.
So if you want a good location, a well appointed house and caring landlords--this is the place for you."
