  • Awesome place!!

"This house is in a quiet area very secluded. We enjoyed the view of the mountains, and the wildlife you were able to see! Thank you so much for opening your home, and we hope to be able to rent it again!! My husband had a great 60th birthday !"

  • So quiet and private, yet close drive to town

"Love this town of Woodland Park...Hungry Bear, Grandma's Restaurant, and local shops including Tweeds and Cowbells. Private pond and easy access to one story house was wonderful. So clean and modern. My husband only caught one fish, but kept trying...our dog, izzy and I were happy to sit on the deck and observe the fishing activity, read, and nap (Izzy). We saw deer one evening and a bear and her two cubs early one morning. But, it is a great, safe area just off a paved road. If we would have had company in the other two bedrooms, we would have needed additional towels and glassware. This is one of the cleanest properties we have ever rented and would definitely consider another visit.b"

  • Kids rate this better vacation than Disney!

"This place was perfect! Jim & Deb have thought of it all! Went hiking on the property to come across where someone started to mine and found a pick and shovel nearby. It was one of the favorite spots for the kids. They loved going up there to mine in an attempt to strike it rich. There was so much for the kids to do outside, it was hard getting them in at night. From the swings, the mine, the fort, the hot tub, panning for gold in the creek, hiking, playing in the creek, fishing in the creek, feeding the horses, and campfires, it was hard to plan time away from the cabin. We stayed at the cabin with another family, to make up 4 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 6 to 10. We all slept very comfortably. Last November we took a vacation trip together to Walt Disney World. All the kids rated this vacation a better one than our trip to Disney. It was also very nice to be able to sit at the kitchen table in the morning and have breakfast with all 9 of us being able to comfortably sit at the table. They even have board games for those rainy days. One rainy night we played Bingo. We are already planning on a return trip next year. Some of the local activities we did: Hiked Garden of the Gods, which was beautiful; rode the cog railroad to the top of Pike's Peak; hiked the Manitou Incline, very interesting and fun? and a must; took kids to the Amusement Arcade in Manitou Springs and then had the best ice cream; visited Paradox Brewery, an excellent brewery!; had dinner at a local dude ranch, M lazy C Ranch; rented an off road vehicle (a Polaris side by side) from Big D's and went off-roading on trails in The Pike National Forest which was just minutes from the cabin. Thanks for the perfect vacation Jim & Deb! One we will talk about for ages."

  • Wonderful Memories for all

"Absolutely wonderful place for a family reunion. Stayed here with people of all ages. The porch was awesome for the teens and 10 year old twins. We set up a little tent for the kids to sleep in at night and they thought sleeping outdoors was awesome...Despite the cooool am wake ups. It did get into the 40's at night and they loved it. The teenager slept in the hammock and watched the hummingbirds fight over hummingbird water. Everyone loved the feeder. Thanks for providing this natural entertainment for us. Even though the cabin was from 1930's it felt very modern with every convenience you could want. Warm showers, indoor toilets, Vermont casting stove for making smores and a grill if needed. We had brought some food with us and was glad to see that others had left some extras behind. (Much of what we had forgotten)It is a long way to get a gallon of milk (20 minutes)so plan accordingly when you head to the cabin for your stay. Loved the little notes telling you what switch did what. Loved all the deer running around. Loved the quiet!"
