  • Our Family Vacation from CA to Woodland Park, CO

"We have rented residences before for our family get-togethers, but never one as awesome as this! Not only was the setting idyllic, the house was perfect. It was everything we hoped for and more, with every detail done to perfection. We would gladly vacation here again and recommend this terrific house to our friends and family. We went away with tons of treasured memories not only for the sights and fun experiences we shared but also for the comfortable and beautiful mountain retreat we had the pleasure of staying in."

  • Four Nights Are Not Enough

"Our family (12 in all including 4 kids ages 9 and under) had the privilege to spend four wonderful nights at this beautiful home in Woodland Park. First of all let me say that Wendell and Lillianna are great. We were greeted like old friends and they went out of their way to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for. The house is magnificent. Floor to ceiling windows let you take in the incredible views. The kitchen is a cook’s delight with Viking appliances and it is open to both the great room and the formal dining. The master bedroom is incredible. The other bedrooms are large comfortable rooms with private balconies. Giant televisions and Bose surround sound are in both the great room and the master bedroom with smaller versions in the other rooms. The house is beautifully decorated in Colorado mountain style with many personal items that give the house a home type of feel. The property surrounding the house is made for kids and adults alike. We took walks, fished (caught 10 or 12 nice sized trout) and daily saw various types of wildlife (deer, fox, and muskrat). Pikes Peak, The North Pole amusement park and Dinosaur Museum filled the days with fun. In the evenings the kids actually put down their video games and dragged out some board games while we adults ate, drank, talked and relaxed. All in all it was a wonderful experience that our family will remember for a long time. It is definitely a five star vacation."

  • Kids rate this better vacation than Disney!

"This place was perfect! Jim & Deb have thought of it all! Went hiking on the property to come across where someone started to mine and found a pick and shovel nearby. It was one of the favorite spots for the kids. They loved going up there to mine in an attempt to strike it rich. There was so much for the kids to do outside, it was hard getting them in at night. From the swings, the mine, the fort, the hot tub, panning for gold in the creek, hiking, playing in the creek, fishing in the creek, feeding the horses, and campfires, it was hard to plan time away from the cabin. We stayed at the cabin with another family, to make up 4 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 6 to 10. We all slept very comfortably. Last November we took a vacation trip together to Walt Disney World. All the kids rated this vacation a better one than our trip to Disney. It was also very nice to be able to sit at the kitchen table in the morning and have breakfast with all 9 of us being able to comfortably sit at the table. They even have board games for those rainy days. One rainy night we played Bingo. We are already planning on a return trip next year. Some of the local activities we did: Hiked Garden of the Gods, which was beautiful; rode the cog railroad to the top of Pike's Peak; hiked the Manitou Incline, very interesting and fun? and a must; took kids to the Amusement Arcade in Manitou Springs and then had the best ice cream; visited Paradox Brewery, an excellent brewery!; had dinner at a local dude ranch, M lazy C Ranch; rented an off road vehicle (a Polaris side by side) from Big D's and went off-roading on trails in The Pike National Forest which was just minutes from the cabin. Thanks for the perfect vacation Jim & Deb! One we will talk about for ages."

  • Great Place

"This place is great! Close to (not walking) all amenities (groceries, downtown, etc.), but very quiet and private. Plenty of parking too. We really enjoyed the large kitchen for cooking and plenty of bedrooms and just lots of room to spread out. Master bedroom was fabulous! We will definitely come back if the opportunity presents itself. Jessica was easy to deal with and very prompt in her replies. The internet didn't work for us, but we didn't want to bother her and didn't need it anyway...we just enjoyed the visit. Nice not to be tethered to all the techie stuff. Phones worked OK and that was all we really needed. Thanks Jessica!"
