There are several highways in the Southern Colorado region that will take you into any of the surrounding cities in the area. However, one of the major highways used in the southernmost part of Colorado is I-25. This highway runs through Las Animas County which is the largest county in the state. I-25 runs straight through almost all of the other cities along the I-25 Corridor and other highways branch out from it. You can find your way to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from here as well as other popular destinations like Trinidad, Lathrop State Park and Cuchara Ski Resort.
