"We arrived on a Friday afternoon to a very clean, well maintained and well stocked house. The kitchen was perfect for cooking for multiple guests. The beds were very comfortable. The ambiance was just perfect for a small mountain town. We absolutely loved the views from the deck. Every morning, we would watch the deer walk across the yard. The owners were more than pleasant and flexible to work with. They even called to check in and see if we needed anything or had any questions. We had such a great time, we ended up staying an extra day! I would definitely recommend this rental for anyone who wants a place to clean and comfortable place to stay with a family, friends. or just as a couple. My husband and I plan to rent it again next year!"Guest: Kathy Duncan Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 25, 2014View listing
"My wife and I have been staying in the chalet since earlier this week and leaving Sunday morning. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and not looking to get back to the grind. No complaints nor issues. Thank you for the great deal!"Guest: Missouri Traveler Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 26, 2014View listing
"Even more impressive in person than in the photos. I was in town for a wedding with an Army buddy and his wife. The living areas were really nice- great view of Pikes Peak. Beautifully and comfortably furnished. Everything we needed and more in the kitchen and baths. Nice patio and balcony area. I enjoyed having my space in the lower level bedroom/bath/TV room. Walking distance to stores and restaurants - really enjoyed Panino - and convenient to everything. The wedding was on Ft Carson - we also enjoyed Manitou springs, Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. The Old North End location was great - the City and property owners have done a nice job with the area. Jackie was great to work with on the reservation - and was kind enough to help me out- she had to make a special trip because I'm an Idiot and left important stuff in a dresser drawer after we'd locked up and checked out. Thanks for a great stay in Colorado springs - I'll be calling you the next time I visit there."Guest: Mike Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 23, 2014View listing
"We all enjoyed our stay at Walton Cottage. Our 3 grandchildren loved the animals, the area to roam and the zipline. Great location for all our sightseeing. Cottage was clean as in pictures. Hot tub was a bonus"Guest: kathycan Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 24, 2014View listing
South Central Travel Tips
Southern Colorado Vacation Rentals Offer Beauty in the Mountains
Southern Colorado is an area that’s full of rugged high desert plains and a collection of up to 14,000-foot peaks, rivers that gush with whitewater rapids during the spring, beautiful red-rock outcroppings, and towering sand dunes that are dwarfed by the mountain range set behind them. South Central Colorado was first explored in 1806, some three years after the U.S. made the Louisiana Purchase. A man named Zebulon Pike led the first scouting expedition to what is now known as Pikes Peak but he never actually climbed the mountain that was eventually named after him.
