"We are repeat renters of this property as well as others from Rich and this is by far our favorite. It is exactly as advertised, well maintained, clean, comfortable, and the view is breathtaking. Somehow morning coffee and that view from the deck is just better than anywhere else. It reminds us why we love the mountains and travel so far to get there. Rich is a great host, as the kitchen and appliances are well stocked, and the condo is non smoking inside. We would recommend this property to family and friends, unless they wanted it when we do! We even emailed Rich to see if we could extend our stay! We hope to return as soon as possible."Guest: Jack and Melanie Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 10, 2014View listing
"This is the most beautifully decorated and furnished place near Durango Mountain Resort. The comfort and luxury of the furnishings were unlike any we have ever experienced. Sparkling clean, high end linens, decorator touches throughout. It was a perfect place for our family to join us while we explored the hiking, fishing, shopping, fine dining and alpine slide in and around Durango. The owners were very thoughtful and provided specialized soaps, chapstick and lotions for our stay in the wonderfully dry mountain air. You will enjoy your time in this rental and appreciate the helpfulness and integrity of the owners."Guest: Pat Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 8, 2014View listing
"I cannot speak highly enough about this property! I don't think we could have found a more beautiful spot. Great place for the family to get together and everyone could do whatever they wanted. Located right between Durango and Silverton, this was the perfect "home base" for all of our excursions. Definitely would recommend and would love to return to some day."Guest: Dusty K. "This condo (exactly like the pictures!) was an excellent accommodation for our two families of four: the four cousins loved having the bunk-beds to share, and having a bathroom attached to that room meant that they didn't have to navigate an unfamiliar environment in the dark. Each set of parents had a luxurious bedroom and private bath as well, so we were all together, but not on top of each other. The kitchen with bar seating and an open plan into the dining/living room areas meant the family bonding didn't stop when cooking or cleaning had to get done (the kitchen could use a few more utensils, dish towels, and things like mixing bowls, but the pantry was generously stocked, which was a plus). The dining room table sat all eight of us comfortably, and was the ideal location for an epic domino game after dinner. The bar seating at the kitchen made a great place for the kids to have breakfast while the parents packed a picnic lunch. Having a washer and dryer in the condo meant we could pack lighter as well. In general, the property was very clean and well-maintained. The balcony overlooked the fun on the plaza, and we could let the kids go down and check out the games while still keeping an eye on them from above - perfect! The zip line, alpine slide, and other activities were fun for the whole family, too. And having multiple hikes or mountain bike trails available just outside the door was terrific (though of course there are other locations to check out like Silverton - the mine tour is well worth taking!, Durango, etc). The pool/hot tub and game room were also huge hits with the kids, and meant that even "lazy" days were fun. The grassy area outside was great for family frisbee games, and the pizza place served up fantastic pies. We've taken four family vacations together in VRBO properties, and this is the first one to which we've planned to return -- a perfect location, comfortable and attractively decorated without feeling too "breakable," spacious, and all around just a wonderful spot for families to share. (The other reviewers' suggestions about hitting the groceries in Durango are spot on, and I have to throw in a plug for Outlaw Rafting if you're looking for a whitewater adventure - they have an excellent safety record and family friendly tours, plus super friendly guides! We also had a wonderful time at the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings -- there are three different tours to chose from, so everyone can match their own activity level.)"Guest: Heather Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 30, 2014View listing
