"Pictures on here do not even do this wonderful lake house justice. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. Everything was very neat and clean. We enjoyed lounging around watching the Beavers during the day and the stars at night. The house came fully stocked with kitchen gadgets, cookware, games, books, movies, blankets, towels, toiletries, and much more. I really felt this house was a vacation within a vacation. The next time we go, we will have zero activities planned just so we can enjoy what this house has to offer."

"This was our first trip to Durango and did we ever luck out with this amazing cabin! The location is PERFECT! It could not be any better! It is right across HWY 550 from Haviland Lake, 10 minutes from Purgatory/Durango Mt and only 15/20 minutes into Durango. We hiked, biked, and ate our way through Durango and this cabin gave us the perfect location to do everything we wanted to do! Our Boston Terrier, Harold enjoyed the property too and we were so thrilled to find a gorgeous well kept pet friendly property! The hot tub was a true treat and we enjoyed it every nigh as we watched the shooting stars! The view from the deck was STUNNING day or night- the pictures do not do it justice! The cabin was perfectly laid out and we ate many meals at home and spent evenings on the balcony enjoying the views of Engineer Mountain and the Needle Mountain Range. Truly, the location and the quality of this cabin made our experience stellar and the property manager greeted us upon arrival and answered every concern/question we had during the stay. This was an amazing experience and we cannot wait to return next summer!"

"My family of four (two teenage boys) stayed 4 nights at this lovely cabin.
The location was perfect - 20 minutes out of Durango and 3 minutes from Lake Electra. If your a fisherman it couldn't be in a better spot. Electra is a very large BEAUTIFUL lake and surrounding mountains - there is $15 per head fee for fishing (good for a full day). But hiking is free. Also a nice restaurant there. I pulled out a couple of 17 inch rainbows the first morning I fished there. Flies and lures only - limit 3 fish. Haviland Lake is just down the road and of course many fishing opportunities on the Animas and Florida rivers are close by.Though it is 20 minutes out of Durango - the drive is breathtaking on the Million Dollar Highway. There is a convenience store 5 minutes up the road toward the ski area for all the basic needs.
We loved the peace and quiet of the location. The cabin and grounds are, in a word, immaculate. The grounds are lush with flowers, grass, trees and plants. We spent many an hour on the beautiful deck in the cool evening. The cabin is very well appointed and beautiful in and out. My wife and I loved the loft master and the AC unit upstairs was a big help. The deep jetted tub was a hit - though we struggled a bit with plugging the drain. Also the hot water heater is a small one - so if you are 3-4 people you will want to space out use of hot water.
The kids were thrilled with the satellite TV and wifi. Perfect kitchen well stocked with cookware etc...
We were very comfortable there and it served as the perfect HQ for our trips to Mesa Verde, Silverton, Ouray etc... Good fit for a fmaily of four - any more than that would get a bit tight.
We would love to visit the area again and if so, we wouldn't hesitate to rent the Double J again!"
