  • Perfect rental!

"We absolutely LOVED this condo and would recommend it without reservation to anyone! We had never used vrbo prior to this vacation, but now it is the only way we plan to travel, and we would certainly look into staying here again if possible! The condo was not only incredibly confortable, but it was beautifully deocrated and well stocked. Our kids loved being able to have the upstairs to themselves and we really appreciated the comfort and security of the building. The master suite was so comfortable...we slept so soundly here! The owners provided wonderful directions as well as great suggestions for what to do with children. We loved the hike to the beaver ponds and ended up driving into Ouray two times because the drive on the Million Dollar Highway is just so spectacular! Thank you for thinking of everything that vacationers might need...you've done that and then some, and we would come back here in a second! What you sacrifice with some of the privacy -- you are in a complex with other people nearby -- this home makes up for in charm for sure. We absolutely LOVED it here! Thank you for your warm hospitality!"

  • THE PICTURES DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE.

"If anyone has anything bad to say about the HD Ranch, there's just no making them happy. This is our check out day and we don't want to go home. Francie made it very easy for us to find the location and for check in as well. It is not what we expected. This place is more beautiful than pictures make it look. My wife and I definitely want to visit the HD Ranch again. The horses, the scenery, and the land are very beautiful. Thank you Francie."

  • Visit to durango

"We loved the house! It was well equipped, lovely and close to downtown but not so close that we didn't get any exercise. The hot tub was great and because the World Cup was on, the tv was particularly important to us...excellent viewing. We would come back for sure."

  • Very nice views and lots of good things, but not secluded.

"Some really great things! I also want to mention some things that were disappointing. First the great: The view from the deck and the deck itself are awesome. Really nice to have the option of the awning or sit out in the sun. Beautiful view. Really cool to have wildlife. Saw a deer, several humming birds, a couple wood peckers, and in the lake I saw painted turtles and goldfish. This was really great! The green kayak was nice to be able to take out on the lake and explore. Really nice distance from Durango and is a great location for many adventures around the area. Now I want to mention some things that were disappointing to me to hopefully be constructive criticism. While it's NOT advertised as secluded, the pictures did make it seem to me that it was really secluded aside from the house all the way across the lake. So keep in mind I was expecting seclusion. The first situation I came into was someone camping in what seemed to be part of the yard. Also, there were 2 neighbors not too far away, maybe the next lots over even, and they were running big heavy equipment making really loud backup beeping noises and loud noises in general while they were landscaping or something, not sure what they were doing. They ran this loud equipment almost every day I was there for at least part of the day. I was really looking forward to peace and quiet away from it all, and I had to adjust my attitude pretty quickly since this didn't provide that. The camper was part of the family and was extremely nice and no problems there, it's just that when expecting seclusion from everyone and everything, it's a bit disappointing to have neighbors. Along the same lines, the county road is closer to the house than I'd imagined and was fairly busy, so loud vehicle noises were frequent when sitting outside. Boats and boat access were a bit tough. All boats except the kayak and pontoon were filled about 1/3 of the way with lake water. I tried to empty the rowboat out only to get more water in it, so then I tried baling it with a bucket, but it wasn't making much of a dent after a few minutes so I stopped and used the kayak. Access was a bit tough just because of how many boats there are for the small space. I understand not wanting to affect the lake too much by a big dock, this wasn't too big of an issue. Overall if you don't need total seclusion, it's a really nice older home type feel with a beautiful view, and access to wildlife and close to many great things to do."

Durango Travel Tips

Vacation in the Mountains at Durango Vacation Homes

Durango is a beautiful mountain resort in Colorado, and the best way to enjoy your vacation is by staying in one of the Durango vacation homes.

Vacation rentals provide you with a home away from home where you can enjoy amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, private bedrooms, family areas, decks and more.

When choosing your Durango lodging, look beyond the normal hotels. Why stay in a small impersonal hotel room when you can enjoy the space and comfort of a vacation home? Hotels can be noisy with neighbors slamming doors, running down the hallways and blasting the volume on their television. Your hopes for a relaxing vacation can be ruined in an instant.

All the Comforts of Home

Rent a privately owned Durango lodging, and you'll be transported to the best of both worlds—a gorgeous mountain resort while relaxing in a rental with all the comforts of home.

Each of the Durango vacation rentals has its own particular charm, amenities and accommodations that spell comfort and privacy. In some of the rentals you'll find enough private rooms and sleeping quarters such as lofts to fit the entire family or group of friends. Many of the rentals have washers and dryers, cable or satellite television, decks and patios with barbecues and gorgeous lake or mountain views.

If you're looking for luxury, you can find a rental with a hot tub, fireplace, gourmet kitchen and luxurious bedding.

Activities Galore in Durango

You won't get bored when you stay in Durango, and your vacation home gives you easy access to all the area's activities. In the winter you can ski, snowmobile, take horse-drawn sleigh rides and snowboard. In the summer, Vallecito Lake offers swimming and boating. Or just sit on the deck of your Durango vacation home and enjoy the surrounding nature.
