  • Winter family fun to the max

"We stayed in this condo this past Christmas with our 3 kids ages 14,17, 22. The sledding and tubing down the side of cliff was amazing. We had so much fun right outside the door. I saw a herd of elk across the golf course, and sat in the snow and watched an awesome sunset. This was our third time to Tamarron, and our first time in this condo. It was well stocked and furnishings were very nice. You can't go wrong with this one. We had no complaints. Durango is an awesome town (don't miss the train), Purgatory is a great ski resort, and Tamarron is the best place to stay. It's just high enough in the summer to escape the heat, and just high enough in the winter to get the snow. Highway 550 is nice and wide and easily gets you right to Tamarron with ease."

  • Great couples getaway

"Great place. Great location. It was very clean, and the heat worked almost too well. We ended up opening the sliding door to the porch a few times because it heated so well. The place has a lot of kitchen equipment that makes staying in and cooking for yourself a breeze. I highly recommend it. The staff at the lodge was super accommodating as well and helped us out of a few jams."

  • Happy Family

"The Swinging Bridge Bungalow in Durango, Colorado, is by far, one of the most comfortable locations that my family has ever had the pleasure of visiting. We were five adults, come to celebrate a family wedding. Our rooms, with the king sized master, and the two bathrooms, felt perfectly spacious and accommodating. This property is actually a house, rather than a bungalow, but the term definitely fits the cozy, homey feeling that it offers. It is centrally located in a quiet neighborhood, just minutes from downtown. We enjoyed walking the lovely paths along the Animas River, which is located right across the street from the bungalow's front entrance. The back of the property has a large, fenced, lawn area, complete with table and chairs, and a top-of-the-line propane Bar-B-Q grill on the large, sheltered patio. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with everything we three Italian women needed for our numerous cooking projects. Everything about the bungalow is fresh and clean and top notch. The property manager was professional, extremely kind, courteous, and accommodating. She made us feel like family. My husband and I definitely look forward to staying at the Swinging Bridge Bungalow again during our next visit to Durango."

Durango Travel Tips

Vacation in the Mountains at Durango Vacation Homes

Durango is a beautiful mountain resort in Colorado, and the best way to enjoy your vacation is by staying in one of the Durango vacation homes.

Vacation rentals provide you with a home away from home where you can enjoy amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, private bedrooms, family areas, decks and more.

When choosing your Durango lodging, look beyond the normal hotels. Why stay in a small impersonal hotel room when you can enjoy the space and comfort of a vacation home? Hotels can be noisy with neighbors slamming doors, running down the hallways and blasting the volume on their television. Your hopes for a relaxing vacation can be ruined in an instant.

All the Comforts of Home

Rent a privately owned Durango lodging, and you'll be transported to the best of both worlds—a gorgeous mountain resort while relaxing in a rental with all the comforts of home.

Each of the Durango vacation rentals has its own particular charm, amenities and accommodations that spell comfort and privacy. In some of the rentals you'll find enough private rooms and sleeping quarters such as lofts to fit the entire family or group of friends. Many of the rentals have washers and dryers, cable or satellite television, decks and patios with barbecues and gorgeous lake or mountain views.

If you're looking for luxury, you can find a rental with a hot tub, fireplace, gourmet kitchen and luxurious bedding.

Activities Galore in Durango

You won't get bored when you stay in Durango, and your vacation home gives you easy access to all the area's activities. In the winter you can ski, snowmobile, take horse-drawn sleigh rides and snowboard. In the summer, Vallecito Lake offers swimming and boating. Or just sit on the deck of your Durango vacation home and enjoy the surrounding nature.
