  • Perfect for Family Gathering

"We rented this house for a family gathering. It was perfect. There were no bad bedrooms - each was like a master suite. Many houses this big lack character or are not well built. This one is top of the line in every way. Worth the splurge! Beautiful views, privacy, and easy access in and out of Durango. We had no complaints whatsoever."

  • Dream Vacation!

"Our family of 6 (2 adults, a 17 year old, and 12 year old triplets) vacationed at Edelweiss #8 for a week this summer. The owners sent all the information we needed in advance, making our arrival smooth even though it was late at night. The condo was perfect for our family - a great layout, comfortable, and well-stocked. We even used the boot dryers after climbing up a waterfall! The hummingbirds and marmots right outside the back door provided endless entertainment, and the easy access to hiking and resort activities kept everyone happy. We drove up to Silverton a few times, toured the James Ranch (highly recommend it, stay for a burger and ice cream!), shopped/played at the Rec Center in Durango one day, and had one really nice dinner at the Sow's Ear. It was the perfect mix of outdoor activities during the day and indoor game-playing/movie-watching/family-cocooning in the evening, so great that I cried all the way out of the mountains on our way home! The icing on the cake was that the cleaning crew found and mailed our son's cell phone back to us - the kind of personal touch we truly appreciate. We can't wait to go back!"

  • A PERFECT summer in Durango

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home just north of downtown Durango. Our stay was for two months and we loved it. The house was perfect and had nice finish throughout with granite counters, hardwood floors, comfortable beds and everything you would need for a month long stay. I appreciated that the owners did not 'over accessorize' with a lot of decor. It was really nice, clean and simply decorated. NOT fussy! The kitchen was great, w/ a LARGE island that you could either work from or pull up a stool to sit and eat dinner. Spacious bedrooms all upstairs. There is not an air conditioner and I was a bit apprehensive about that, but the window fans were adequate for the evenings in drawing in the cool air. Outside we used the grill and a picnic table in the private backyard space. The home is situated nicely as far as proximity to town (about 2 miles), to the rodeo grounds, library, rec center, River Walk (about .5 to 1 mile). We hiked every day/evening to trails that were within a few miles to a short 15 minute drive away. You will also be within a short drive to Mesa Verde, Silverton, Telluride and Pagosa Springs. I think that this house is the BEST deal you will find also for a month stay. The owner was easily contacted via email. We really did not have any issues, so did not need to call him for any reason. If you are considering Durango for a month vacation, I can't think of a better spot!"

Durango Travel Tips

Vacation in the Mountains at Durango Vacation Homes

Durango is a beautiful mountain resort in Colorado, and the best way to enjoy your vacation is by staying in one of the Durango vacation homes.

Vacation rentals provide you with a home away from home where you can enjoy amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, private bedrooms, family areas, decks and more.

When choosing your Durango lodging, look beyond the normal hotels. Why stay in a small impersonal hotel room when you can enjoy the space and comfort of a vacation home? Hotels can be noisy with neighbors slamming doors, running down the hallways and blasting the volume on their television. Your hopes for a relaxing vacation can be ruined in an instant.

All the Comforts of Home

Rent a privately owned Durango lodging, and you'll be transported to the best of both worlds—a gorgeous mountain resort while relaxing in a rental with all the comforts of home.

Each of the Durango vacation rentals has its own particular charm, amenities and accommodations that spell comfort and privacy. In some of the rentals you'll find enough private rooms and sleeping quarters such as lofts to fit the entire family or group of friends. Many of the rentals have washers and dryers, cable or satellite television, decks and patios with barbecues and gorgeous lake or mountain views.

If you're looking for luxury, you can find a rental with a hot tub, fireplace, gourmet kitchen and luxurious bedding.

Activities Galore in Durango

You won't get bored when you stay in Durango, and your vacation home gives you easy access to all the area's activities. In the winter you can ski, snowmobile, take horse-drawn sleigh rides and snowboard. In the summer, Vallecito Lake offers swimming and boating. Or just sit on the deck of your Durango vacation home and enjoy the surrounding nature.
