  • Quiet and Peaceful

"The Double J cabin was a wonderful place to go to at the end of long days of sight-seeing and outside activities. It is very quiet and peaceful, and in a very beautiful location. It is about 20 miles outside Durango, and we loved just driving through the wonderful scenery going back and forth between the cabin and our other activities. The listing description and photos were very accurate. The cabin and the outside area are both well maintained and everything was sparkling clean. We did not use the oven or dishwasher in the cabin (my idea of a vacation does not include cooking!) but the cabin appeared to have a large supply of dishes and cooking utensils. There were plenty of towels and even small sizes of amenities such as lotion, shampoo, etc. We liked having wi-fi and the HDTV with satellite. The cabin also contained a nice selection of information about places to eat and activities in the area. The owners seemed to really try to have anything guests would possibly need. We ate at a couple of really good places in Durango. We liked Doughworks for breakfast - they make their own doughnuts and pastries and have a great selection of items. If you really want to go back in time, try the Durango Diner - counter eating and huge portions. We also ate at Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen, which is a bistro-type restaurant with many different kinds of wood-fired pizzas and small plates (the fire-roasted jalapeno quacamole was great!) We always ride the Durango/Silverton Train, which is always fun. This year we also did the zipline at Full Blast Adventure Center in Durango - something kids of all ages would love. Downtown Durango is full of neat shops and a couple of really good bookstores. We loved the Double J cabin and we love Durango."

  • Concur: "This condo is wonderful"

"Just stayed for 3 days. My wife and I were very happy with the condo. Terry was wonderful to work with, and everything was as stated. Very clean, well stocked, cozy and pet friendly. One has to walk to the upstairs bedroom through the loft area but that was not even an issue for us. There is a rather narrow, curved stairway to the loft. We are retired, and it was no problem. Bedding is good, lots of kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, etc. Good wifi, nice TV with DVD. Small deck with table and nice view. Durango Mountain resorts is about 25 minutes from Durango on a good, mostly divided highway, and we came home through Silverton (24 miles) - one of the most beautiful drives ever. Would recommend this condo highly."

  • Up to date condo with beautiful view and perfect location

"We spent 5 days in this beautiful condo with all the ammenities. Perfect location for all the fun activities on the mountain. We had access to pool, hot tub and work out facilities. The grill was a great for our evening meals. We white water rafted with Mild to Wild, rode horses with Rapp Coral, visited Mesa Verde, drove up to Silverton(amazing drive), purchased the adventure ticket on the mountain and had a great time visiting with new friends. We can't wait to come back!"

Durango Travel Tips

Vacation in the Mountains at Durango Vacation Homes

Durango is a beautiful mountain resort in Colorado, and the best way to enjoy your vacation is by staying in one of the Durango vacation homes.

Vacation rentals provide you with a home away from home where you can enjoy amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, private bedrooms, family areas, decks and more.

When choosing your Durango lodging, look beyond the normal hotels. Why stay in a small impersonal hotel room when you can enjoy the space and comfort of a vacation home? Hotels can be noisy with neighbors slamming doors, running down the hallways and blasting the volume on their television. Your hopes for a relaxing vacation can be ruined in an instant.

All the Comforts of Home

Rent a privately owned Durango lodging, and you'll be transported to the best of both worlds—a gorgeous mountain resort while relaxing in a rental with all the comforts of home.

Each of the Durango vacation rentals has its own particular charm, amenities and accommodations that spell comfort and privacy. In some of the rentals you'll find enough private rooms and sleeping quarters such as lofts to fit the entire family or group of friends. Many of the rentals have washers and dryers, cable or satellite television, decks and patios with barbecues and gorgeous lake or mountain views.

If you're looking for luxury, you can find a rental with a hot tub, fireplace, gourmet kitchen and luxurious bedding.

Activities Galore in Durango

You won't get bored when you stay in Durango, and your vacation home gives you easy access to all the area's activities. In the winter you can ski, snowmobile, take horse-drawn sleigh rides and snowboard. In the summer, Vallecito Lake offers swimming and boating. Or just sit on the deck of your Durango vacation home and enjoy the surrounding nature.
