  • Cascade Village Condo rental

"We had a wonderful time at this condo and Cascade Village. The condo is clean and we had plenty of room. It was also nice to be able to park right in front of the door, inside the garage. The commute back and forth to the ski area was short and the bus was very convenient. Also we loved the guys at the ski rental shop at Cascade Village; we had a much better experience with them than in year's past with the rentals at the mountain. Thank you for allowing us to spend our New Year's at such a wonderful place."

  • Cozy and Steps Away From Lifts!

"Extremely cozy, clean, comfortable and convenient condo! Easy and efficient reservation/payment process...owner super friendly and accommodating. Easy and convenient to move in and become settled...everything we needed was included within the kitchen, bathroom and living area. Each morning we walked to the lodge and lifts, skied and walked back to the condo in the late afternoon. The view through the sliding glass doors was spectacular(snowed daily), and since this was partially a working trip, the WiFi came in handy. Would definitely recommend, and we'd stay again. Perfect for two."

  • Perfect family vacation!

"This condo (exactly like the pictures!) was an excellent accommodation for our two families of four: the four cousins loved having the bunk-beds to share, and having a bathroom attached to that room meant that they didn't have to navigate an unfamiliar environment in the dark. Each set of parents had a luxurious bedroom and private bath as well, so we were all together, but not on top of each other. The kitchen with bar seating and an open plan into the dining/living room areas meant the family bonding didn't stop when cooking or cleaning had to get done (the kitchen could use a few more utensils, dish towels, and things like mixing bowls, but the pantry was generously stocked, which was a plus). The dining room table sat all eight of us comfortably, and was the ideal location for an epic domino game after dinner. The bar seating at the kitchen made a great place for the kids to have breakfast while the parents packed a picnic lunch. Having a washer and dryer in the condo meant we could pack lighter as well. In general, the property was very clean and well-maintained. The balcony overlooked the fun on the plaza, and we could let the kids go down and check out the games while still keeping an eye on them from above - perfect! The zip line, alpine slide, and other activities were fun for the whole family, too. And having multiple hikes or mountain bike trails available just outside the door was terrific (though of course there are other locations to check out like Silverton - the mine tour is well worth taking!, Durango, etc). The pool/hot tub and game room were also huge hits with the kids, and meant that even "lazy" days were fun. The grassy area outside was great for family frisbee games, and the pizza place served up fantastic pies. We've taken four family vacations together in VRBO properties, and this is the first one to which we've planned to return -- a perfect location, comfortable and attractively decorated without feeling too "breakable," spacious, and all around just a wonderful spot for families to share. (The other reviewers' suggestions about hitting the groceries in Durango are spot on, and I have to throw in a plug for Outlaw Rafting if you're looking for a whitewater adventure - they have an excellent safety record and family friendly tours, plus super friendly guides! We also had a wonderful time at the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings -- there are three different tours to chose from, so everyone can match their own activity level.)"

  • Best location in Durango

"The house is about 3 miles south of town, right on the southern point of the bike trail that runs through town, and very close to trail heads for mountain biking. Road biking access also exceptional. House is cozy, well-maintained, spotless, and well stocked w/ all necessities. Right on the Animas River with a big yard to run around in between it and the house. Built fires in the fire pit and looked at the stars almost every night. Great BBQ grill. Best for 5 or less people, 4 easy. We had a great stay - thanks"

Durango Travel Tips

Vacation in the Mountains at Durango Vacation Homes

Durango is a beautiful mountain resort in Colorado, and the best way to enjoy your vacation is by staying in one of the Durango vacation homes.

Vacation rentals provide you with a home away from home where you can enjoy amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, private bedrooms, family areas, decks and more.

When choosing your Durango lodging, look beyond the normal hotels. Why stay in a small impersonal hotel room when you can enjoy the space and comfort of a vacation home? Hotels can be noisy with neighbors slamming doors, running down the hallways and blasting the volume on their television. Your hopes for a relaxing vacation can be ruined in an instant.

All the Comforts of Home

Rent a privately owned Durango lodging, and you'll be transported to the best of both worlds—a gorgeous mountain resort while relaxing in a rental with all the comforts of home.

Each of the Durango vacation rentals has its own particular charm, amenities and accommodations that spell comfort and privacy. In some of the rentals you'll find enough private rooms and sleeping quarters such as lofts to fit the entire family or group of friends. Many of the rentals have washers and dryers, cable or satellite television, decks and patios with barbecues and gorgeous lake or mountain views.

If you're looking for luxury, you can find a rental with a hot tub, fireplace, gourmet kitchen and luxurious bedding.

Activities Galore in Durango

You won't get bored when you stay in Durango, and your vacation home gives you easy access to all the area's activities. In the winter you can ski, snowmobile, take horse-drawn sleigh rides and snowboard. In the summer, Vallecito Lake offers swimming and boating. Or just sit on the deck of your Durango vacation home and enjoy the surrounding nature.
