  • Pleasant Surprise!

"We were in no mood for any unpleasant surprises. Upon our arrival, a drive up a fantasy valley and across a rustic wooden bridge, we had apprehension about staying so close to the owners' home at first. Then, I met the owners and saw the cabin. This place has magical and serene energy. We disconnected from the rest of the world. Left the door open most of the time. Every window has a scenic view in every direction. The inside is very beautiful and cozy with massive log walls and comfortable furniture. The landscaping is very Colorado. You can hike up into the forest and be totally alone. You can drive to the Gunnison River to fish all day. You can sit and read on the deck with chipmunks and watch barn swallows play. The barn is covered with interesting antiques. The hot tub is clean and spacious. They have lovely rescue horses, which are like watching living artwork seen through the framed windows inside the cabin. Mostly, though, the owners Walter and Georgia, are really really good nature people (and their dog, Tux, as well). We really melted into relaxation here and enjoyed the beauty. There were no issues. Not one thing went bad (and we are picky people). This is a wonderful find."

  • If you love the outdoors and really want to get away from it all...

"This is the place to be! Fishing, hunting, county roads to OHV trails from north and south of the house, ranch life, white water rafting, horseback riding, etc. My family was in heaven, the week we stayed, on their dirt bikes and ATVs most of the time. Be sure to get the topographical maps from the Forest office in Gunnison. Pitkin and Tin Cup are neat towns to ride to. The house was very roomy for 2 families and really appreciated the washer and dryer. Very convenient to Gunnison (20 min), Crested Butte (1 hr, shopping) and 2 National Parks (about 1 hr, Black Canyon of the Gunnison & Curecanti w/Morrow boat tour). Owners were great to work with, be patient with return calls and emails."

  • Kansas Three

"The Tree House was a fun stay! The river running on both sides of the cabin made for peaceful sleeping. We loved the fact that Gunnison was close but not close enough to disturb the serene setting of the cabin. The cabin offers everything you need. We had a nice relaxing vacation! Can't wait to visit again!"

  • FANTASIC and RELAXING VACATION, Will be back!!!!

"A little slice of heaven between the mountains and the river, great time, we will be returning! The house was fantastic, great kitchen and plenty of space for everyone. We had 5 in our group. The beds were really comfortable and everything was really clean. Master bedroom was downstairs with doors leading out to the back porch, huge master bathroom. Upstairs 2 good size bedrooms and full bath, also a half bath downstairs. The views out of every window were breathtaking! The front porch has a great view and plenty of chairs and a swing to hang out. There is also a cute daybed and a working claw foot tub on the corner of the porch! The river is a close walk out the back porch, great fishing or just hanging out by the fire pit. Nancy and Gary are wonderful, couldn't meet better people! We had a great time and will be back!"
