What a beautiful location! We can't wait to return!
"This was our second visit to Paradise Ranch, and we can't wait to go back!
The rooms were spacious, and the beds comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms were modern, well-appointed and well-equipped. Although we go to Paradise Ranch to get away from TV and the computer, out teenage daughter informed us that there are many, many satellite TV channels to choose from, as well as a wide selection of DVDs. We found the property to be very clean and well-maintained. The photos don't do it justice! In short: all the comforts of home!
In addition to all the modern comforts and conveniences, there was a welcome rustic feeling to the property. You can walk to the river in minutes for fishing, and there is direct national forest access from the property. It is far enough away from town to provide a feeling of seclusion, but close enough to enjoy the hot springs, shopping and other activities. We were only about 40 minutes away from Wolf Creek Ski area. The scenery was spectacular, with views of the mountains by day, and the Milky Way by night, unobstructed by city lights. (For you astronomy nerds, on a moonless night, the Andromeda galaxy is naked-eye visible!) We also saw numerous elk and deer on the property nearly every day, including the largest elk we've ever seen one evening as we were pulling back onto the property from a visit to Pagosa Springs.
We would recommend this property for friends and relatives, and we plan to return ourselves!"

First-time VRBO user and Colorado tourist - Best family vacation ever!
"Spent a week at Alpine Haven and no one wanted to leave! Great location - private, peaceful, wooded neighborhood made us feel secluded, yet located only a few minutes to town, the hot springs and endless fishing holes (if you wanna fish, be sure and hit Echo Lake). Loved The Springs. We have a 9yo and were very pleased at how "kid-friendly" they were (there's also an "18+ only" area...complete with gas-log fire pits and really comfy lounge chairs). We loved that the town had a laid-back vibe and was NOT overrun with tourists (like ourselves lol).
Also drove up Wolf Creek Pass (hubby's a closet C.W. McCall fan) to the Continental Divide...about 20 minutes away. If you head up there, be sure and stop in South Fork at The Old Firehouse Grill. THE BEST food! http://www.southforkoldfirehouse.com/our-grill.html
Neighbors were friendly and helpful, too (nice older gentleman stopped and chatted with us...gave us the down-low on good fishing spots and area wildlife). Everything was very clean and nicely decorated....and the two decks were perfect for relaxing. Pam was extra quick to respond to our questions... And the house was well-stocked with everything you need (tons of towels, sheets, dishes, even cooking spices, tea and coffee). And, very quick return of our deposit. I have no complaints and would book there again in a heartbeat. Husband's been looking at Pagosa real estate - and dreaming of retirement - since we got home. All around, just perfect! Thanks so much!"

"Just as advertised, very clean, comfortable condo with a great view of the mountains. Very convenient location, easy access to the San Juan River for tubing, fishing. Short drive to downtown Pagosa Springs, lots to do in the area. Would certainly stay here again."

"Have you ever been to a place that is so incredible that if you had to describe it to friends you would be at a loss for words!!? First, the owner, Barby is a gem. So kind and accomodating. The caretakers Jimmy and Sabrina went above and beyond for our comfort and
safety. Jimmy was right on top of the weather
conditions and had us plowed out every day during our
very white Christmas. Even on our departure he
helped us get down the snowy road with tire
chains....we went with a two wheel drive SUV. ..wouldn't
recommend that but Jimmy came to the rescue. The
cabin was extremely clean and had everything we
needed. All we had to do was supply our food. We had
more than enough firewood for our nightly fires. There
was even a Christmas tree in the garage that we set up
to really make the chalet festive. The beds were comfortable and had beautiful quilts on them. .....So
homey. The Blanco Basin has to be one of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen. Combine that with the chalet and new friends, Jimmy and Sabrina, it is a set-up for the best vacation EVER."
