"We really enjoyed our stay at your place this spring break. Everything was clean and confortable and the welcome treats were gone before we went to bed that night. We hope to be able to stay in your place again. Thanks"

  • Happy Family

"The Swinging Bridge Bungalow in Durango, Colorado, is by far, one of the most comfortable locations that my family has ever had the pleasure of visiting. We were five adults, come to celebrate a family wedding. Our rooms, with the king sized master, and the two bathrooms, felt perfectly spacious and accommodating. This property is actually a house, rather than a bungalow, but the term definitely fits the cozy, homey feeling that it offers. It is centrally located in a quiet neighborhood, just minutes from downtown. We enjoyed walking the lovely paths along the Animas River, which is located right across the street from the bungalow's front entrance. The back of the property has a large, fenced, lawn area, complete with table and chairs, and a top-of-the-line propane Bar-B-Q grill on the large, sheltered patio. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with everything we three Italian women needed for our numerous cooking projects. Everything about the bungalow is fresh and clean and top notch. The property manager was professional, extremely kind, courteous, and accommodating. She made us feel like family. My husband and I definitely look forward to staying at the Swinging Bridge Bungalow again during our next visit to Durango."

  • Very nice views and lots of good things, but not secluded.

"Some really great things! I also want to mention some things that were disappointing. First the great: The view from the deck and the deck itself are awesome. Really nice to have the option of the awning or sit out in the sun. Beautiful view. Really cool to have wildlife. Saw a deer, several humming birds, a couple wood peckers, and in the lake I saw painted turtles and goldfish. This was really great! The green kayak was nice to be able to take out on the lake and explore. Really nice distance from Durango and is a great location for many adventures around the area. Now I want to mention some things that were disappointing to me to hopefully be constructive criticism. While it's NOT advertised as secluded, the pictures did make it seem to me that it was really secluded aside from the house all the way across the lake. So keep in mind I was expecting seclusion. The first situation I came into was someone camping in what seemed to be part of the yard. Also, there were 2 neighbors not too far away, maybe the next lots over even, and they were running big heavy equipment making really loud backup beeping noises and loud noises in general while they were landscaping or something, not sure what they were doing. They ran this loud equipment almost every day I was there for at least part of the day. I was really looking forward to peace and quiet away from it all, and I had to adjust my attitude pretty quickly since this didn't provide that. The camper was part of the family and was extremely nice and no problems there, it's just that when expecting seclusion from everyone and everything, it's a bit disappointing to have neighbors. Along the same lines, the county road is closer to the house than I'd imagined and was fairly busy, so loud vehicle noises were frequent when sitting outside. Boats and boat access were a bit tough. All boats except the kayak and pontoon were filled about 1/3 of the way with lake water. I tried to empty the rowboat out only to get more water in it, so then I tried baling it with a bucket, but it wasn't making much of a dent after a few minutes so I stopped and used the kayak. Access was a bit tough just because of how many boats there are for the small space. I understand not wanting to affect the lake too much by a big dock, this wasn't too big of an issue. Overall if you don't need total seclusion, it's a really nice older home type feel with a beautiful view, and access to wildlife and close to many great things to do."

  • Well Done

"The owners have taken the time to make sure that all your needs will be taken care of in their vacation home. The property is well cared for, well stocked & they have thought of almost everything! (I would have loved darker blinds in the master bedroom. Not a morning person.) We will rent with them again. Thank you for an amazing vaca!!!!!"
