  • Mountain Oasis

"My family of 7, from ages 6 months to 85 years old, loved our vacation at Alpen Glow. The house is beautiful, clean, and has a homey feeling. The owner is very helpful and very friendly. The furnishings are nice and everything is provided for you. The views are spectacular. Each room has a view of the mountains. You can see horses, elk, and mule deer grazing. You can see the sun rise and set on the mountains and you can see the thousands of stars twinkling in the sky at night. Your view from sitting on the couch is Mt. Wilson! We will definitely stay at this house when we return to Colorado. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our time in Colorado."

  • The Real Colorado

"My family and I spend as much time as we can at ERR. We live in Denver and come up anytime we need a break from the city life. The ranch is peaceful and beautiful, each of the rooms decorated immaculately while still keeping an air of rustic comfort. The ranch is located in Ridgway, which is a perfect location to feel the seclusion of a "real Colorado" mountain town and still being close to great restaurants and the nearby ski resort of Telluride. We usually go on a few day trips (fishing, music festivals, nearby mining towns) but once we get there, we spend most of our time at the ranch itself because it is so relaxing and beautiful. Downtown Ridgway is a close walk from the ranch and has local restaurants, yoga, antique shops and fishing/adventure outfitters. There is also a grocery market with everything you could need to cook some great meals. It's the perfect place for a family or couple to get away from normal life and enjoy a few days of peace and comfort. We have been to the ranch during different times of the year and there isn't a bad time to go. In the summer, the area is busy with festivals, farmers markets and fishing. In the winter, the mountains are breathtaking and Telluride is easy to get to for skiing. There are also places to do outdoor activities like snowmobiling and ice-climbing in the winter."

  • Incredible Stay of a Lifetime

"I'm actually a bit embarrassed I've waited this long to write my review but I simply got busy. My family was presented with a rare and wonderful opportunity this past summer when my wife earned a paid four week sabbatical from her job enabling us to spend four consecutive weeks at this wonderful home. I work remotely but phone and computer so I was able to work about half the trip and take vacation days for the rest. This home and location are just incredible! The pictures just do not capture the views. We must have take 100 photos of the sunset over Mt. Whetstone. The great room has floor to ceiling windows and on the backside you feel like your just part of an aspen grove. On the front side is Mt. Whetstone which can be viewed from the deck off the great room floor or from the other deck off the first floor where the hot tub is. I could go on and on about how great CB is, all the hiking, the fishing, mountain biking, ziplines, etc... but the reality is we spent much of our time just sitting out on the deck looking at the mountain with a glass of wine in hand! Of course, being there for a month we did all the other things too. The drive way is steep but my wife's sedan made it without issue. Every day I would walk down the driveway to the "street" (more of a gravel road) and walk all the way down to the end of the road and turn around. The views once you get down to the end of the drive look back into CB and all the mountains surrounding it. My dog and I did this walk at least once a day. Round trip was about 45 minutes and it was phenomenal. There are only two more houses past this house and both were unoccupied for most of our stay. Mornings in August were cool and crisp and I typically had to wear a fleece in the morning. The beds were comfortable. The caretaker (Bill) was a great guy too. We had a few small appliance problems that were addressed quickly and easily. When we got back to the heat of Texas I was in a funk for about 2 weeks. Our month went by so fast. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. I wish we could go back for ski season. It would be about a 20 minute drive to the ski slopes, FYI. We have stayed in about a dozen VRBO properties now including some very nice homes in other beautiful locations. This house ranks at the very top now for total experience."

  • Best View in Pagosa

"We keep coming back to the Sunshine condo which has all the comforts of home with a full kitchen, spacious living room and bedrooms. The deck has a primo view of the golf course and is great for balloon and storm watching. Sara and Brian are always welcoming and very helpful. Everything in Pagosa Springs is close. We love the great outdoors so Pagosa is the place to go and wonderful Durango is only an hour west."
