  • A comfortable stay

"We enjoyed our recent stay. The condo is comfortable and clean. The nights were quiet and beds comfortable. All of the housing in this area is a little older but well kept. The owners at times were quick to respond to texts or calls. Other times we received no response without repeat effort. Parking is easy. It is about 100 yards to the lift and to rent equipment. However unless you are a very advanced skier you have to plan your return. Under the lift is an ungroomed black run with moguls. The entire east side (Telluride side) of the mountain is essentially blue or black runs. For our youngest who is eight this meant taking the gondola back from the easier side of the mountain and riding the bus to the condo. I would not consider this a family "ski in/ski out" experience like we have had at other places. So four stars for age of the condo, occasionally difficult communication, and a difficult "ski in" end of day experience. Having said that I would stay there again despite its shortcomings."

  • Love the nice details!

"My family (dad, mom, two kids ages 9 and 11) stayed here for the second year and would return again. Great bright, sunny upscale condo. Fully stocked kitchen including spices and condiments. Thoughtful touches like nightlight and plenty of hooks to hang ski gear. If you're here to ski and need to rent equipment, rent from Telluride Rentals in the Peaks Hotel across the street. The valet will store your skis there and you can ski out from the hotel without hauling a thing!"

  • The Observatory Guest Book

"The Observatory has a guestbook which has been filled with comments and creativity from all over the country. Drawings, stories, maps, even a porcupine quill (and accompanying story) are among the reviews left by our guests. Following are a few notes transcribed from The Observatory guestbook: - Looks and feels great...love the love you put into the space. CO - Fabulous reprieve from the Texas heat. TX - What a spectacular and amazing location. MI - It's so beautiful and so much to do. CO - Great to be a part of such an amazing tradition (the house, itself). CO - The hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing or just sitting on a blanket listening to the waterfall while reading my book was just amazing. - Could not believe how beautiful it is up here. FL - Wonderful family gathering location, spectacular place (28th wedding anniversary)...difficult to leave. - Amazing cabin...amazing terrain. Incredible views. - Such an enchanting venue for bonding with friends. MA - This place made us appreciate life a little more again. NV - I have lived in Colorado all my life and have never seen a place so pristine. CO - This has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth (25th anniversary). IL"
