  • Great location for ski-in and ski-out trip

"This house's location is great in Telluride - it is within convenient walking distance to the slopes and all amenities in town. Once you arrive, there is no need to start the car again until you leave. The house was clean, well maintained, and had upgraded finishes throughout as described. Overall the 3 beds are very comfortable (memory foam) and sleep 2 adults each, very well. The futon is comfortable for 1 adult at most."

  • Heaven for skiers

"My husband and I stayed in this lovely home for most of the ski season, Jan.-closing day, 2014. You can't ask for a better location if you're a skier and want to be close to the gondola, as well as within walking distance of everything else Telluride has to offer. We had driven from Massachusetts, so we had a car, but we left it parked in the driveway most of the time we were in Telluride. Walking is the way to go in Telluride, where nearly everything is only a few blocks away from 460 Depot Ave. The house is comfortable and well-equipped for family groups, and our skiing family members who visited were thrilled to be there with us. Breakfast in the cheerful dining area was usually enlivened by the view of the famous Telluride Trail bear, a bronze sculpture in the house's back yard which is a photo op "must" for strolling parents and kids. Depot Avenue is a delightful "private" street which is basically a pedestrian walkway leading to the gondola area. The houses are close together but still very private, and there is a wonderful neighborhood feel to the area. Telluride is the most beautiful ski area in North America, we think, and the skiing is as challenging or as easy as you want it to be. Expert skiers can ride the lifts with less advanced skiers, and everybody can find as much fun as they can handle on the runs, and meet back at the lift. We were blessed with excellent conditions for our whole time in town. For a small place, Telluride has more terrific restaurants per capita than anyplace else we've been, and one of the best, Cosmo's, is right down the block from 460 Depot, in the Hotel Columbia. We made that 2 minute walk for dinner quite a few times! Nancy is a friendly and conscientious landlord/host. She even made sure that fresh flowers and succulents graced several rooms at the beginning of our stay. If you value convenience and proximity to all that Telluride has to offer, you can't go wrong with this vacation rental property."

  • You want to stay here! We will again, and again, and again if possible

"WOW. Perfectly located, exquisitely decorated, unbelievable comfy touches....We went with another family and a group of teenagers. Every detail has been thought of: ski racks and locks, slippers by the door, boot warmers, large mugs for cocoa/tea, throws near the fireplace... if someone could think of it, they've provided it. Teens were on top floor and loved having their own space. The steam showers provided a fantastic steam room to relax in after a long day skiing and those that preferred had the large Jacuzzi tub to soak in. It was a bit wet one day and throwing outerwear in the dryer was easy and helpful. Close to everything, river path is just across the street so walking in the morning was delightful, easy to get to baked in Telluride, and everywhere else. Simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Can't wait to stay again on a girls trip. Try it, it will surpass your expectations. We travel VRBO frequently (my husband say's I'm critical and picky but I just say I have high expectations and am often disappointed) I've never written a review before but I had to for this one - LOVED it."

Private Homes Travel Tips

Spend the Money You Save with Telluride Vacation Homes on Unique Colorado Boutiques

Skiing can be pricey. Anyone who has ever rented equipment for a week, or even purchased their own, can attest to that. Add in the cost of the lift ticket and getting out to the slopes and you are already looking at a pricey vacation. Luckily Telluride resort lodging can save you enough money that you can spend the difference on the one of a kind shopping to be found in the Rocky Mountains.

Head into Town and Check out the Shops

When you're ready to check out the city, head into town from your Telluride vacation home. It is conveniently located to give you easy access to both the slopes and the downtown area. Downtown Telluride boasts an impressive 12-block shopping district. It is on the National Historic Register so the mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues are combined with old Victorian era homes and clapboard homes. The whole area reminds the visitor of the rough and tumble past of the old mining town while showcasing the modern resort town it has since become. Cute boutiques and unique shops showcase local talent and world class designers. Sure Telluride has a mall, but you can go to the chain stores wherever you live. While vacationing in Telluride make sure you check out shops you won't find anywhere else.

Make Your Stay Memorable

Telluride vacation rentals remind vacationers why they chose to ski in Telluride. Telluride vacation homes offer many amenities that will make your vacation comfortable and memorable. With different sizes and amenities, you're sure to find one that is right for you, whether you're looking for a cozy chalet for two or a house that can accommodate a large family. Staying in Telluride resort lodging connects you to the town and helps to make your vacation fun, different and interesting.
