"Just returned from a wonderful week in Ophir staying at the Rutledge house. The location of this rental is perfect for anyone wanting to hike, fish (in summer), mountain bike, pan for gold, or just enjoy the outdoors in a peaceful and gorgeous setting. Every window in the house has a stunning view of the San Juan Mountians. Both Telluride and Mountain Village are a short drive away and have great restaurants and activities (the gondola ride between the two towns is a must). The house itself is comfortable and clean with a lovely deck and well appointed kitchen. We have two children (7 & 10) who were happy to have access to toys and the trampoline out back and the house is very kid friendly in general. But the master bedroom is apart from the children's main play area so even couples without children (or families that like some space) will enjoy the rental. Owners extremely helpful with everything and the neighbors in Ophir are really friendly and helpful as well. We will definitely be back and are so grateful to have such a lovely place to stay in this most serene and peaceful place."Guest: DMZ Date of Stay: June 2013 Review Submitted: July 6, 2013View listing
"We had a group out last june and this home provided the highlight of the summer...beautifully nestled into the banks of the river, this house is set up for long lazy days of soaking in the sun and evenings soaking in the hot tub! Owners were so generous and communicated very well with us. thank you so much! Carrie and the Evergreen Crew"Guest: carrie v. Date of Stay: June 2010 Review Submitted: December 31, 2010View listing
"Our family of four (15 and 12 year old kids) stayed here in late March. The condo is a good size, well maintained (but not fancy), stocked with everything you'll need, and in a very good location for accessing the mountain. Telluride has a great gondola/chondola system that means you can leave your car at the condo and take chondola/gondolas up to the Mountain Village AND the town of Telluride for skiing and for dinners. They run until midnight (and are free unless you're skiing) so it makes it very easy to skip driving. The chondola is about 200 yards from the condo so its an easy walk to ski or take the chondola to go to dinner. This condo is a great value for its location and size. We would definitely stay here again."Guest: Lisa B. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 3, 2014View listing
"Eureka was the perfect home with stunning views. We also loved the fact that there are beautiful aspens and pines around the home to give privacy but they didn't obstruct the views of the mountains. There were 5 of us with ages ranging from 3 to 75 and we all had such a wonderful stay. The house is luxurious but cozy at the same time. Our 3 year old loved the loft that consisted of a pool table, games, a video library and large flat screen with surround sound that we all enjoyed for movies. There are 2 decks, one cozy deck just off of the loft and the large deck on the main living floor with table and chairs, hot tub, outdoor speakers, large grill, very nice. We had coffee on the deck each morning and enjoyed watching the birds, who would perch on the railing and in turn, watch us. The market was literally 1 minute away if you choose to drive and a short walk if you don't need too many items. The picturesque lake is visible from the deck and we fished it one evening (catch and release), a beautiful spot to wet your line. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook a gourmet meal and there is plenty of room to eat at the dining table and the bar. I can't say enough about the huge windows with their comfy window seats....the views are breathtaking and a wonderful spot to read or just soak up the mountains. Another pleasant surprise are the heated floors and also the fireplaces that warm up by simply flipping the wall switch, instant heat. The beds were extremely comfortable and each room is tastefully decorated with flat screens in each room. We enjoyed sleeping with the windows up every night and having the breeze carry in the fragrances of the pines and aspen. Oh to bottle that up and bring it back home would be heavenly. This home is one that we hope to visit again and again. We have traveled to many beautiful places within and outside of the U.S. and this is at the top of our list! The last thing I will mention, my father needs double knee surgery and the stairs were not too much for him. Thank you John and Catherine"Guest: Happy Go Lucky Texans Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 17, 2014View listing
