  • Very comfortable

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The location is great and the house is very cozy and comfortable. The kitchen utensils met our needs nicely and we were pleased to find some basic cooking spices etc. already there which was a big help in making Christmas cookies and regular meals. The beds were very comfortable so all in all we recommend the Redwing house for a very nice way to visit a great town."

  • The Lodge of Views

"The perfect place in Durango to relax and unwind. The wrap-around porch is perfect for morning coffee and evening cookouts. The lodge easily slept 15 with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. The kitchen is fully stocked for all cooking needs, along with 2 large TVs and a ping pong table. Not that one needs to spend much time at the lodge with so many activities in and around Durango. My highlight was watching the evening 'fireworks' of lightening storms (in July) from the porch. The porch has 250 degree (probably more) views from high atop the ridge, making for the perfect place to begin or end your day."

  • Best view in Crested Butte - no joke!

"Our family stayed here for two weeks in August and we so happy to have stayed at Paradise Cabin. The view blows you away as soon as you walk in the door. Just incredible, the VRBO listing can't possibly capture it accurately. The beds were very comfortable, the home was small but laid out so well, that it didn't feel that way. We had everything we needed. I was worried that the steep stairs would be dangerous for our 4 and 6 year olds, but it was fine. Younger kids might have a problem with them as the railing is high and the stairs are open on both sides. Overall, Paradise Cabin was completely perfect for us and our two small kids. We spent most of the time outside on the deck anyway! We will definitely stay here again!"

  • Almost Heaven at Purgatory

"We just got back from our winter family vacation at Purgatory. The Durango House was the best imaginable base for our family of nine. We had six adults and three kids 10 & under. There was a nice base of snow when we arrived, and about 15 inches fell while we were there. Even with the questionable tires on our two mini-vans, we had no trouble with access, either to the house or ski area, due to the wonderful job of plowing done by the maintenance people. If you don't have 4WD, this is the perfect house, with nearly level roads between it and the resort. If you're worried about it, you can always take the shuttle from the Cascade Village. The house itself has been accurately and appropriately praised by other reviewers, so I won't repeat what they've said. Good supply of seasoned firewood was in the garage. Lots of spices and basic supplies like oils and coffee filters in the kitchen left by prior visitors. I'd recommend waiting 'till you get here to see what you need in that regard. The kitchen is well equipped. We cooked all meals there and never ate out, so no restaurant recommendations from us. Nice mud room/laundry with coat pegs. Ski racks in the garage, but no tuning bench. The owner was very responsive to our questions. It was really nice to be able to pull the cars into the garage! Oh, and the views! Why stay anywhere else?"
