  • Enjoyed Our Stay

"Family vacation at this home was great; very quiet neighborhood, plenty of room for all of us (7 adults and 3 children)! Tons of bath towels! There were 2 TVs in the main living space which was great for the children to watch their shows while the adults watched theirs. A couple of the bedrooms also had tvs. Yard was big enough for the children to play in and with the use of lawn chairs and our beach chairs, we made a "fence" so the children and their ball did not go over the "cliff". Met a friendly neighbor who gave us insight into restaurants and beach areas. This house is not on what I would call a beach, there is no sand and although you could get into the water from the shore, it was difficult for the children (4 and younger) who ended up with many scratches, bruises and bleeding knees. Husband and children loved going out in the kayak! We all loved spending time sitting on the porch overlooking the Sound. It would be helpful if there was a book of directions to restaurants and/or menus, directions to local grocery areas and local beaches. Would also be helpful if you had a cabinet or two available for guests to put their food and kitchen items in. Fran was very easy to work with and very accommodating! Thanks Fran!"

  • Quiet and comfortable

"I stayed in Mark's lake house for a week in October while in the area on business. Mark was super attentive and helpful, and the house is great. it provided a clean, quiet and comfortable retreat after our busy days. I especially enjoyed having my coffee on the deck in the morning looking out on the mist rising off the lake. I was thrilled one morning to see an eagle swoop by in the sunrise. I would love to return someday with more time to enjoy and relax."

  • Wonderful abode

"This little barn is delightful and my husband, teenage son and I really appreciated our five nights here. The place was very comfortable, tastefully decorated, very peaceful with lovely views. Saw wild turkeys in the field beyond! Was there for parent's weekend at a nearby prep school, and this made the perfect base to operate from. We didn't get to spend much time just enjoying the barn because we were out most of the time, but it would be a nice place to kick back and read, write and relax. The owner was very helpful and great to communicate with and kindly accommodated changes to our planned arrival and departure dates. Only hitch was that internet was out during our stay; we didn't let the owner know until after we departed, but I am confident it would have been fixed lickety-split if we had. The area is beautiful."

  • Spacious house in good location

"We enjoyed our stay on Candlewood Lake while staying in this house. It is large enough to accommodate six to eight people. Our favorite room was the screened in porch which had a good view of the lake. The community beach is just a short walk from the house."
